Horrible place to go to. Menus look beat up and old. Also oversized for the size of the table. Place was dirty with dust everywhere and the table looked horrible. Service was even worse. Waited a while for someone to even ask us what we wanted to drink. Bad attitude, didn't even apologize for taking so long. The appetizer wad something that a five year old could have made. Mediocre at the least. The entree was not any better. Ordered the volcano chicken and it was supposed to be hot and it didn't even start a spark. Flavors were very dull. Overall not the greatest place to go eat at especially with such a great name behind it.

Attended a superbowl party tonight (2/1) and Guy was downstairs and didn't come to the VIP section. Very disappointing. The bar served us Very strong drinks. We dined on chicken fingers.chips and dips, and bar foods. The meatballs were spicy but the rest was good. Everyone was polite and the security and staff was exceptional. The desserts were sweet.

Normally I don't write reviews but being in the business felt the need to share! I went to Guys with my family last night for a quick bite after experiencing The Ride (which was awesome). It was 10pm and we were seated immediately but with no fanfare or warmth. My son is a big fan of Guys show on TV and was excited and expected a lot. The service was cold, impersonal and non engaging. The food was dropped in front of us and we not checked on again until we were paying our check. There were tons of servers on hand lazing around. What a shame! The food was actually good but with so many other NY restaurant choices there is nothing appealing or exciting to return for. It particularly amazes me that after all the repeated "poor service" comments nothing has apparently been done to correct this. Is there no management team in existence here? I guess there will soon be some more prime NY real estate up for grabs! Guy you need to take action or your reputation will suffer.

Me and my wife went here the other day for dinner thinking it would be a great place to eat, I can honestly say that normally when you go to a restaurant it takes a few minutes to receive your dinner, but to my surprise our dishes came out within 2 minutes of ordering, in my opinion this says a lot about how freshly cooked there food is. What a huge disappointment. The food tasted like it was microwaved and it looked like someone threw up on my plate. My wife ordered pasta and it was way overcooked and also tasted warmed up. We were very disappointed and I would never go back there again, or suggest it to anyone looking for a good meal. For being located in the city I think they really need to step up there game.

The only good thing about this place was the fact that there was no wait....and with good reason. The staff is un-helpful when it comes to the knowlage of the menu items and beer selection. They are quite slow even though there is nobody in there. Oh yea here is the biggest thing we left a $2 tip on a $16 check (more then what i thought it was worth) guess how much they charged to the card..$34.79! Stay classy Guy...Stay classy!

I am a fan of both Guy and his "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives" show on the Food Network, so I had high expectations when I went to Guy's American in New York last week. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing dining experience for my family and myself. The décor is great and I liked the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant. The service, however, was lackluster at best our waiter didn't seem to have very good knowledge of the menu. When we asked him what he would recommend, he replied "I don't know." Seriously? Maybe he was being tactful and avoiding "Nothing! Get a beer then go somewhere else!" For appetizers we ordered nachos and calamari for the table. The nachos were appalling. Who ever reviewed the nachos as "Great" either didn't eat here or has only had nachos at ballparks. It was a pile of tri-colored tortilla chips with a handful of cheese thrown on top, heated under the salamander, then it got a squirt of sour cream from a squeeze bottle and some chopped pepperoncini peppers on top. Ick! The calamari arrived luke warm with the fried coating falling off, and the most heinous sauce I have ever tried in my entire life. It was basically a ramekin of olive oil, garlic, and chopped pepperoncini peppers. None of us could eat it. Why not a nice aioli, or a tarter or cocktail sauce? Anything but what was served. For my entrée I got a chopped salad which was something that I could have gotten a better version of from Chili's or Friday's, know what? I can't even remember what I got for an entrée. It might have been shrimp. Whatever it was, it was not memorable. The rest of the diners in my party found their experience to be the same. I would neither recommend it or return. Guy, for someone who is an successful and experienced restaurateur and chef, I would get in there and figure out how to salvage this restaurant. The potential is there, but diners are way too savvy these days to return to an establishment with lackluster food and service. There are far too many other places to dine.
