Still the BEST breakfast place in the Twin Cities! I've been away from MN for years and enjoyed my pancakes, eggs and meaty bacon combo as I've had a long time ago. Good coffee too! Environment remains cozy like a resort or homey expansive living room.

I haven't been to an Original Pancake House for several years; the last one I ate at was in Champaign, Illinois, in 2002 and it was fantastic. And frankly not many places stand up to the test of time these days, so I was a little leery of what the experience would be like after more than a decade away from this small chain restaurant. I need not have worried. Their signature Apple Pancake was as delicious as ever. It was hot and covered with perfectly cooked apples with their wonderfully gooey cinnamon glaze. The bacon was thick, and perfectly cooked, and the coffee just kept coming. My server was fantastic; a nice balance of attentive service but not hovering. And she did not wait until I had just taken a bite of food to ask if everything was okay (one of the most annoying things about eating out these days - you would almost think that it is part of the training for restaurant servers that they learn to gauge exactly the wrong moment to check-in with the customer). My server was absolutely wonderful and so was the food. I will most certainly add the Edina Original Pancake House on W 70th to my weekend (or whenever I want really good pancakes) go to places.

Pretty good food, I'd go here again. Reasonable prices too.

NEVER EVER sit at table 20! Loud crashing dishes and a very unpleasant experience. Had "ice cream" with my Apple Pancake and it looked like a milk shake spilling of of the cup. She said that my pancake was very hot and that it just came out of the over. I said, looks like the ice cream just came out of the oven too. The topping on the pancake was yummy but the cake itself was undercooked and doughy.

I've been coming here my whole life. Still have yet to find a better breakfast restaurant. I have never had anything on the menu that I didn't like. Best breakfast in the twin cities!

I moved to NYC and I have to say besides my friends and family the only part I miss about MN is this restaurant. And Cecils deli. But that's like it.

One of the best breakfast places around! My recommendations are: 1. Omelettes. Done souffle-style and big enough to share. The Santa Fe has some zip, and the OPH is excellent. Choose the buttermilk pancakes for your side -- it's a full short stack. 2. Oven Pancake. The Dutch Baby (oven pancake served with lemons and powdered sugar) is my personal favorite. 3. Hot Chocolate. Made with real chocolate and real cream. Need I say more? 4. Bacon. It's thick cut and flavorful. 5. Hash Browns. They're mixed with onion and cooked just right. (not all OPH locations have hash browns) This place is always busy, so be prepared to wait. The decor is dated, yet fitting. The main dining rooms are more fun to sit in than the back overflow room.
