Food is always great. Atmosphere is awesome. And the staff is always very efficient. We go usually every couple weeks and everything is always wondeful. Easily the best place for breakfast in the area

Good was amazing. Best part? They charge extra for artificial syrup. Fresh home made Vermont maple is free with the meal!

Hands down the best breakfast place in Rutland. Sugar and spice pancakes, the sausage, the hash are all amazing. Staff is great. The ambiance is to die for.

I ate breakfast here twice during my stay in the area, and I highly recommend stopping by. The servers were fantastic; I don't think they ever let my coffee cup get as much as half empty. Similarly the food was good and was served up promptly. The place produces their own syrup, and is in fact located in an old "sugar house," as they call it, where larger scale syrup production took place in the past. If you find yourself unable to decide what to get, I'd suggest trying the cinnamon-maple Sugar & Spice pancakes.

We stopped when we saw the name and we were looking for Vermont Maple Syrup. This turned out to be what looks like a very popular breakfast place as it was full on a Saturday morning. The gift shop was pretty good, and we were not disappointed with the selection of maple syrup they had. They had samples out so you can taste the difference between the different "darkness" of maple syrup.

Sugar and Spice is a must if visiting Rutland County, Vermont. An experience unlike any other in the area and food that will have you frequently coming back even if you live out of state. The signature Sugar & Spice pancakes are borderline addicting. You will truly get the Vermont feel as the restaurant is wood cabin sugar house. There is also a gift shop and tons of syrup treats and gifts. Just a substantial place.
