The New Ford Bronco is Coming! (

Trying to contain my #excitement posting this today, because I am a certifiable nut when it comes to the Ford #Bronco...

But for those that are looking for a competent American made off-roader, we may be seeing a re-designed Bronco running the streets in a few years!

The announcement came this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

NOTE - The rendering above is unofficial fan concept and not an "official" image from Ford.

The good people over at +Road & Track are watching this story like hawks, and here's what we know so far:

With the new Ranger, we have a pretty good idea what to expect, but there been a lot less certainty surrounding the Bronco. The last generation, which ended production in 1996, was based on the Ford F-150. While some fans speculated that Ford could make a Bronco based on the upcoming 2017 Raptor, the Redditor says Ford will instead use the Ranger-based Everest for the new Bronco.

Ford's Chief Technical Officer Raj Nair, however, contradicted that assertion. According to him, the new Bronco will be a unique vehicle, not a reworked Everest. Size-wise, he said expect something smaller than the Bronco II but bigger than the original Bronco. And if you're worried the new Bronco will be a glorified Explorer, don't be. He followed it up by saying ""people have an idea of what a Bronco should be. Certainly, we have an idea of what a Bronco should be, and we're going to be looking forward to bringing that to our customers."

Chevy Cruz Diesel Clocks 52 MPG (

An important record was achieved by #Chevy, which should be music to the ears of those drivers who want the fuel economy of a diesel/hybrid, but still want the convenience of the standard diesel engine.

Owners of the 2017 Chevrolet Cruz diesel are going to be privy to the highest highway fuel economy of any non-hybrid/electric vehicle.

+Automotive News reports more:

The car with an available nine-speed automatic transmission is certified at an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 47 mpg highway and 31 mpg city.

The car is powered by a new lightweight, 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder turbodiesel engine offering 137 hp and 240 pounds-feet of torque.

Pricing for the diesel-powered Cruze starts at $24,670, including $875 for shipping. GM has begun shipping the car to U.S. dealers. A hatchback version of the car will follow later this year for the 2018 model year, GM said.

Maserati Recalling Cars Across North America Due To Fire Risk (

#Luxury car brand #Maserati has recalled nearly 40,000 vehicles in the U.S because of a fire risk. After two defects were found that could cause fires Maserati are now recalling around 39,381 of their Quattroporte, Ghibli and Levante vehicles.

These shocking defects to the luxury car’s have been reported by an article in Automotive News:

Adjusting the front seats could potentially lead to electrical shorts and fires in those vehicles from model years 2014 through 2017, according to documents filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The company is also recalling 10,879 Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles for the 2014 and 2015 model years that may have fuel-line leaks.

These are the third major recall efforts for Maserati, which is owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, in the past year.

These are scary defects and we hope that all Maserati owners check if their vehicle could be affected.

Pow! Bang! Crash! (

There is nothing worse than returning to your #vehicle in the parking lot and finding a scratch on it. Well almost nothing. Perhaps the absolute worst is finding a dent in your car from an inconsiderate driver.

Dents in your car’s body from parking lot crashes suck. Nothing is more irritating or upsetting. You have worked hard to afford your car and now some dummy has gone and reversed into it and if they decide to ditch out on doing the right thing, you have to foot the bill for the repairs.

Dents ruin your car’s exterior and make it look like you are a bad driver. A dent in your car is a warning to other drivers to steer clear.

You should almost put a sticker over the dent advertising it like this guy did!

If you suffer from a car park run in not all is lost. We can help you to fix it, at least we can supply the tools you need for the job. We stock a large range of body structure and collision automotive tools. Click the link to browse our large range of automotive tools on the Hands On Tools website. (

Beware The Certified Second Hand Car - (

Purchasing a #second hand #car can be a great idea. After all second hand cars are normally cheaper than purchasing a brand new car.

There are many dealers offering customers the "certified second hand" deals, however, you need to be careful. Sometimes these certified second hand cars are not as well inspected as you think.

You don’t want to drive off in your dream car to arrive home and find that things are not quite what they seem.

This guy did a good patch job, but it won’t fit the certified "pre-owned" definiton!

Don’t let yourself be scammed when buying a pre-owned vehicle. Our friends over at Road and Track have put together an article with a video interview with Steve Lehto about what to look out for when it comes to second hand cars.

Here is a quick peek at the article:

And what's worse is that you can't even assume the dealer fixed any outstanding safety recalls. For all you know, your new CPO car could still have one of those exploding Takata airbags in it.

And remember, if you do need to fix your second hand car at Hands On Tools we have all of the mechanic tools you could ever need. Check out the link above to view our full selection on the website.

With #gasoline prices always in flux, one important detail car-shoppers should consider is the fuel-efficiency of their potential purchase.

An article recently in +Kelley Blue Book outlined some of the 10 most fuel efficient cars under $25k. You can follow the link above to their full article, but we'll highlight one of the ten winners below:

2016 Ford C-Max Hybrid

Ford's C-Max Hybrid is a practical, efficient hatchback that's also kind of fun to drive. Its powertrain has more oomph than that of the Prius, and the interior is more upscale than you'd expect at this price.

40 mpg combined (42 city, 37 hwy)

2016 Hyundai Sonate Hybrid

All-new for 2016, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is refined, loaded with features and offers impressive value for the money.

42 combined mpg (40 city, 44 hwy)

2016 Toyota Prius C

The smallest, least expensive member of the Prius family is also the most affordable car on this list. It's nearly as fuel-efficient as the flagship Prius, with combined fuel economy of 50 mpg, but boasts an even more attractive starting price of around $20,000.

50 combined mpg (53 city, 46 highway)

What if we were to tell you that #1 on the list had 119 combined average MPGE? Want to know what made the top spot? Check out the link above to find out!
