This is a painting from 1979, when I was living in New York. It was part of a larger figure painting. My model was a dancer that worked for Twyla Tharp. Unfortunately she proved to be flaky and unreliable, perhaps from all of that jostling to the head that dancers undergo, :-) . Finally, out of frustration, I decided to give up on the figure painting and just salvage this small still life that formed the upper right corner of the composition. It is now in the collection of Michael and Libby Moore, of Yakima and Spokane. I revisited the Moores and my painting when I was returning from my trip to Maryhill.

This small study was in my recent show at i.e. gallery in Edison, WA. I really enjoyed my introduction to the area, thanks Margy and Dave, and thanks to the many old friends and patrons that made the trip up to see the show while it was hanging.
