Seems the Skype team over at Microsoft have released a new version and are dropping support for non-PulseAudio setups on Linux.

Yay, finally :)
FWIW, here's the link to the original Skype blog post including more details : http://blogs.skype.com/2014/06/18/skype-4-3-for-linux/

Just added that information to our MAQeia: https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1121

Tried it, works fine here.

If you package or use Skype along with PulseAudio 4.0, you might want to read this.

Arch already has this workaround, however we use another latency value. Is 60 optimal?

Unfortunately, no. I think the right way forward for RTP is to not implement our own stack. You can see this outlined at: http://www.mail-archive.com/pulseaudio-discuss@lists.freedesktop.org/msg06431.html

You'll need to set something like Enable=Gateway,Source in the [General] section of /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf (or whatever the equivalent is in Fedora). Restarting bluetoothd and pulseaudio after this should make things work.

And while you're at it, don't forget to see what our other GSoC student Alex Couzens has been up to, revamping the notorious tunnel module.

I'm really interested in PulseAudio but I'm not sure I understand how to get binaries for Windows... The zip on freedesktop.org is really old, and ... yeah... Any way to get 4.0 windows binaries??? Thanks in advance :D

GSoC student Damir Jelić (poljar)  writes about his work improving our resampler infrastructure.
Hi. Time for a quick update about my Summer of Code project. I'm going to talk a little about my first checklist item, refactoring the resampling code. While refactoring isn't quite exciting as implementing new features it is...

Looks like +Trever Fischer has fixed the mixer orientation problem once and for all. How does everyone feel about doing this in pavucontrol as well? Lots of good ideas in comments too!

Why not make it rotatable? KDE is about rotatable widgets after all.
