The Magical Land of Yeld isn't all about stabbing boss monsters! Cooking and collecting recipes is one of the best ways to power up your character and explore Yeld!

I want to make a monster with starry eyes, and a wide smile, wrapped in old bandages and wearing an apron. Cooking Mummy. It gets frustrated when you don't try to stab it just right.
Not yet Marshall, but that's a good idea.
Craft systems in CRPGs always fascinate me. I always want to love them, but it usually doesn't work out that way. For one reason or another, they never end up working like I wish they would. I've written about how crafts in Legend of Mana were ultimately unsatisfying, and how crafts in Mana Khemia were both mindblowing and ultimately a pain in the ass. Lemme see if I can dig up links, may be useful to you.
Please do. I'd love to see more stuff like that. I'll be talking more about Yeld's crafting system next week.
All I can picture is some crazy version of Iron Chef now.
Ha, I should maybe read things before I say what's in them. The Legend of Mana one doesn't say much about crafts 'til the end, and the Mana Khemia one kind of talks about it almost throughout, since it's so central.
