Back in the sky - and down to earth :(
I had some connectivity problems with the yaw-motor, above 20m high the yaw lost the signal. This was again a hard touchdown.

Back to hangar ...

Tricopter repaired!
I've successfully repaired my tricopter yesterday. I had to change two motor axles after my hard touchdown. Meanwhile i've ordered Davids super-duper brandnew, super simple #yaw mechanism. It's really neat!

To enter next level, i've ordered #fpv equipment today.

Yesterday it happend, i smashed my #tricopter down to earth. I was flying about 15meters high and then i lost control. The result: one motor axle is out of shape, two propellers are broken, the yaw mechanism is totally damaged.

I was happy to see there are spare parts available for the motor. So i ordered a new axle from china. I hope it will arrive soon.

Maybe its time for a new version of the #yaw mechanism? I think a yaw with zipties is more resistant - as David already said ;)

2nd tricopter build!

Today i've done my 2nd #tricopter build. It's based on Davids 2.6HV design, http://rcexplorer.se/projects/2012/07/the-tricopter-v2-6hv/. Last year i did the first, but after the yaw mechanism broke apart i've finished this hobby for a while ;)

After spending some time for redesign, it's done:
- A brand new yaw mechanism
- Simplified vibration damper system

Parts list
- Front booms are made of beech, 13mm², 35cm
- Rear boom is 13mm², 38cm
- SunnySky 2216 880KV
- HobbyKing 20A Ubec, SimonK
- KK2.0, FW 1.6
- 10x4,7" Props
- Spektrum Dx6i
- Savöx SH-0255MG
- XT60 connectors
- 2200mAh 3S

The yaw mechanism is based on David's original design - without the direct connection to the servo. I had some trouble with it, after 20 liftoffs the gear broke. I decided to build another yaw - with indirect control.
