Striking Double Exposure Oil Paintings
In this series entitled Overlapping Images, Korean artist Ho Ryon Lee incorporates a double exposure technique that is typically used in photography.
The remarkable thing about this body of work is that the images are, in fact, oil paintings. The realistic renditions of the multitude of scantily clad women in these works employ a layering method that plays with opacity.
We can feel a sense of motion, as though we're able to view several moments in time at once.
There's something about his work that seems voyeuristic while simultaneously celebrating the beauty of the female body.
