I have been to Arianna's Retreat twice...end of Feb 2014 and end of Mar 2014. I had a wonderful hourlong facial and hour long massage each time. Melissa does a great facial and I had two different masseuses and each was excellent. The spa is clean and folks are friendly. I plan on going again and have bought two gifts.

Very unprofessional. I purchased a package on Groupon and called to schedule an appointment. The first time I left a voicemail and no one called back. Then I called a few days later and still no one called back. I complained to Groupon and they said they would contact the business owner and I would hear from them in 3 days. Still no response from Arianna's retreat. Terrible business!

I was there back in December and January, and was not too impressed. Like others here have said, you always get an answering machine and it is hard to get scheduled. I bought a Groupon for a combo mani/pedi and massage, and they were unable to find any dates within 2 months that they could book it on the same day, so I had to split them up. I do not find the location to be relaxing, as it is about 7 feet from busy Rt.501 and you can hear all the traffic noise. The waiting room is dark and cramped, too dark to even read a magazine, and the seating area at the check out desk is also crowded with people coming and going. The owner is overtly religious and loud as well, and spouts her annoying opinions and bible quotes to everyone. The time that I went there, they were running 40 minutes late. The manicure was not all that great; the manicurist was rushed and trying to get out, and she did not do a good job of shaping my nails or letting the polish dry between coats. As a result, the polish on two of my nails peeled off horribly the next day, another nail was starting to peel, and because I was leaving for a trip, I had to walk around with them like this until I could get to another place to have the polish removed and re-applied. I came back on another date to get the massage part of my groupon. The massage room was very small and just felt like a tiny bedroom in somebody's house; nothing impressive or spa like about it. The massage therapist was very nice and did a good job, but her hands were cold which was not relaxing at all. They took quite a while to warm up. All the while, I could hear the car and truck noise from Rt. 501. This is not a good spot for a spa at all. Lastly, I will say that while I was there, the owner got on the case of two women who had completed a service using a groupon that was a gift to them. She pointedly asked them on the way out if they had made sure to tip their service providers. They said they did. But apparently the owner did not believe them, so she called them on the phone and told them they needed to come back and take care of it. I agree that a gratuity is expected, but if it is not paid, you don't call someone and ask for it - that's just tacky. It is at the customer's option. I would never go back to this place. I now go to Visage a Visage on N. Duke Street, which is an amazing place and facility with very professional staff and incredible surroundings.

I can't believe Groupon is actually allowing this place to run a deal again. How many complaints have to be filed and how many refunds issued before they realize that Arianna's retreat is a scam? I tried for over 2 months to book appointments for my wife and I, to no avail. No one answers the phone, no one returns calls, I stopped by 2 times during "open" hours to find them closed. The owner of the garage that shares her parking lot told me he never sees her and can't figure out how she stays in business. I figured it out, she gets Groupon or Double-Take to run deals and pay her, then she takes the money and doesn't answer the phone!!! Last time I checked, that was called theft. BTW, I got Groupon to issue me a refund.

I have been going to Arianna's Retreat now for almost 3 years and I have taken advantage of the majority of services that are offered at the spa (facials, pedis, manis, massages and waxes) and I have yet to have one complaint. It's quite a nice establishment, the staff are very professional, it's private and the prices are great (otherwise I wouldn't go :) The owner is very accomodating and goes above and beyond to keep her clients happy, and if you may not like something you can talk to her and she will make it right. As I read some of the very hateful and nasty reviews online, I have to wonder where they are coming from, because some of them seem to be of a personal nature..humm..#just saying.... To anyone who reads this: go and check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed..Enjoy!!

I agree with some points of the other reviews, as being difficult to reach someone at the business and returning calls. However I had one of the best massages I have ever had. I had a female masseuse, I cannot remember her name, I believe it was an unusual name and will remember when I hear it. Will definitely go back to her. Over the years I Have done a lot of traveling and have been to many Resort Spas as Canyon Ranch, Ojo Caliente,(Taos,N.M.) Greenbriar, Red Door, Ritz Carlton,(Naples,Fla.) Felicita Spa, Nemacolin, Hershey Resort and countless more. So I believe I am qualified to rate a good massage! Remember this is not a full fledged Spa, I believe it is a small business trying to make it!

Should have read the reviews and taken them seriously. Also should have realized that something is seriously wrong with a business owner calling down the Wrath-of-God on anyone who disagrees with her. I mean really, taking biblical quotes out of context and posting them on your website to defend your incredibly poor operation is pathetic! I don't know what I got but it wasn't what you claimed it was, and when I asked you about it all I got in return was a bad attitude. Spend some time training your staff, and yourself on how to treat the people who PAY GOOD MONEY for what you call services or close your doors permanently. Sign me DISGUSTED!

This is a scam- exactly as described by other reviews. I purchased 3 Groupons (2 as gifts) and subsequently spent an ENTIRE month trying to get appointments to no avail. This even included one visit IN PERSON. Apparently the person in charge when I stopped by was not capable of scheduling anything.... After countless phone calls to Arianna's, followed by countless emails to Groupon, who also tried to resolve the issue on my behalf, I never received a return call to schedule my appointments. Groupon issued me a refund and I had to start all over again to schedule different spa services as gifts. What an incredible waste of time that I certainly did not have during the month prior to Christmas. Avoid this business at all costs. You will have plenty of headaches and stress and not a bit of relaxation.
