Children fuel spending. Spending fuels the economy. Fortunately 60,000 more kids were born in the U.S. in 2014 than 2013. These are the seeds for the next boom. http://j.mp/1N6ZZ3Z

China recently forced its banks to issue loans to local governments despite obvious concerns over repayment. But it won't stop their economic downturn for long!: http://j.mp/1FREOlI

Home ownership down to 63.7%, lowest since 1986.  I guess those 3%-down mortgages from FNMA and FHLMC haven't worked through the system yet.

If US share buybacks continue at January 2015 pace, they will absorb all corp profits for the entire year:  http://on.ft.com/1bIdzyI
Observers of the US political scene complain about a dearth of leadership. The same is also true of the corporate world. Just as politicians are mesmerised by polls, chief executives are enslaved to the share price. Today’s US bull market is

We are still in the Winter Season. #Deflation is still the rule for the next five years. But as I said earlier, five years is not that long so it's time to start considering what's up next for your investments.

Everyone's fussing over Greece's debt problem, but America has one too, and they're both due to pensions. Don't count on reforms. This will fall on taxpayers. http://j.mp/1TID4B2 #grexit   #eurozone   #useconomy

This October the #IMF  will vote on including the Chinese #yuan  in the basket of currencies that make up its special drawing rights (SDRs). It will most likely earn that spot. Other member currencies, including the #USDollar  that will mean representing a smaller portion of the SDRs than they did before.

Will the IMF and Yuan Destroy the Dollar This October? Hardly!: http://j.mp/1cK1x7q #usdollar

As I read the news and watch the markets, I’m struck by the yawning difference between what’s going on with the economy and what is happening with equities.

Where's our silver lining? http://j.mp/1E22ZrX

Since the financial crisis, people have had to seek our new sources of income. The Lending Club came into play. But it caused some problems... And we're right back where we started!: http://j.mp/1AIGZCv
Interest rates are going up Sort of Worry over the a href http economyandmarkets com markets interest rate hikes will they or wont they target blank Fed raising short term interest rates a has caused a sell off in U S Treasury bonds and other fixed income That drove interest rates on the 10 year Treasury bond higher from 1 80 to 2 10 in a matter of days While that s a huge move in the world of bonds it barely rates a yawn from individual investor...

GM wins in court, not liable for safety issues pre-bankruptcy... but keeps the $45 billion tax loss carry-forward from pre-bankruptcy.  Hmm.

China is trying to get the yuan recognized as a reserve currency. What will this mean for the US dollar? Is it going to remain strong, or will it collapse? http://j.mp/1FGKQBA

Story
Introduction

As Co-founder of Dent Research, I work closely with Harry Dent to study how people spend their money as they go through predictable stages of life, how that spending drives our economy and how you can use this information to invest successfully in any market.

I began my career in financial services on Wall Street in the 1980's with Thomson McKinnon and then Prudential Securities. He started working on projects with Harry in the mid-1990s. I am a regular guest on several radio programs such as America’s Wealth Management, Savvy Investor Radio, and has been featured on CNBC, Fox News and Fox Business’s “America’s Nightly Scorecard, where I discuss economic trends ranging from the price of oil to the direction of the U.S. economy.
