It's interesting to me that people have no qualms with picking up food and drinks from another establishment and then bringing them into Starbucks to sit for hours on end without actually buying anything at Starbucks.
Would the same people be fine with buying a cup of Starbucks coffee and then spending hours at McDonalds? Would they purchase one of our breakfast sandwiches only to eat it at the sandwich shop down the way?
Additionally, which other establishment (besides the public library) would these people feel fine with bringing in half of their belongings, constructing a complete nest, and spending 5-6 hours a day without purchasing anything, asking only instead for "free" water?
What has Starbucks done so terribly wrong that people see it merely as a free living room, office, and dining room?
