Having listened to what Dirac can do with the more expensive Arcam AVR550 I am in no doubt that nothing will be able to touch this. When professionally setup with Dirac it opens up a whole new listening experience. All I can say is try imaging listening to this in your home and then moving all the walls back about 20 meters. removing any negative effect your room has on your speakers.

in our option Dirac is the future and when coupled with Arcam's Class G amplification then we sure are seeing something special here.
Affordable, high-end home cinema from Arcam...

Best buy headphones for 2014: Bowers &Wilkins, Sennheiser, Grado

A round-up of the Best on-ear headphones for 2014, recently put together by What Hi Fi , includes some Sevenoaks Sound and Vision favourites. These include:
 - Bowers &Wilkins P7 (£329) – Best portable over-ear headphones under £400 http://goo.gl/ROCbYt  - Sennheiser Momentum (£259) – best portable over-ear headphones under £300 http://goo.gl/YuBM6g  - Grado SR80i (£99.95 ) – Best over-ear headphones under £200 http://goo.gl/xCm6wO
With headphones comfort is as important as sound quality, otherwise its difficult to get engrossed in the music if you have an annoying pressure or pinching on your ear. As you would expect from headphones of this quality all three score highly on both sound and comfort.

Here’s what What Hi Fi says:
“After just the first few seconds, you can sense that the Bowers &Wilkins P7 are hugely capable headphones. The sense of impact and scale is something to behold. This level of insight does mean the B&Ws are also very revealing and not afraid to highlight weakness in the recordings and your rips.’ The ear pads create a great seal and the level of comfort is excellent with the pads putting just enough pressure on the sides of your head to keep them stable and in situ.”

"The Sennheiser Momentum headphones  are really nicely made, the suede headband is a nice touch and the stainless-steel sliders look great. The finish is near flawless. And they’re comfortable. The ear-pads contain two types of foam and grip your ears with just the right pressure.
"In the main, that attention to detail is reflected in the Momentum On Ear's sound. There’s punch here and, although you don’t get the last word in agility, there’s still enough pace to your tunes to keep things interesting."

The Grado SR80i headphones are open back so they leak sound, which is guaranteed to annoy others travellers, family members or room mates but sound great for the wearer!
“The SR80is have a serious point. And that point is how they sound – sharply timed, awesomely detailed, musical, natural and – with the right recordings – simply beautiful.” -
