We invite you to Explore, Experience and Enjoy Escondido!
Welcome to Escondido, the “Hidden Valley” of San Diego, located just 30 miles northeast of Downtown San Diego. Escondido blends small-town friendliness with big-city buzz and is known for its mild year round climate. Escondido is known as the heart of northern San Diego, and it is a wonder why it isn’t as popular as Downtown’s Gaslamp District. Rich in history and culture, it is home to the California Center for the Arts with a wide variety of world class performances as well as other internationally-renowned artist attractions. The area in and around Escondido also includes the San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park, the Escondido History Center at Grape Day Park, Stone Brewery World Bistro & Gardens, a wide variety of restaurants and Four Diamond Hotel Casinos. You can also spend the day browsing through the vast array of galleries and boutique, as well as Westfield’s North County Fair, which offers three stories of big name retailers including Nordstrom’s, Coach, Banana Republic and many more! Friday nights from April through October, in our historic downtown Escondido hosts Crusin’ Grand, a blast to the past featuring pre-‘70s vintage cars and music. Come visit one of our award winning boutique wineries and play challenging golf courses or hike in scenic preserves. Bike down ranch or pine-covered mountains, or cast a line in one of our three beautiful fishing lakes. Whatever brings you to our area, we appreciate your visit and we encourage you to Explore, Experience and Enjoy Escondido!
