Overall excellent dining experience, but with a few caveats. The oysters with red wine mignonette were a perfectly refreshing starter, and the lamb tortellini was an excellent and light summer pasta dish. The actual tortellini were a bit hard in texture for my taste, but the flavor was there. Only major disappointment was the quite expensive wine list (no bottle for under $40), as it would be nice to have have a few cheaper bottles for those who are simply looking for a decent bottle of wine for a casual dinner. So, while there were a few faults, have to give four stars for the excellent service alone.

FOOD: salmon = something simple i coulda cooked for a fraction of the price yet double the portions... SERVICE: good ATMOSPHERE: one of the handful of cute restaurants in this area, small, cozy, contemporary, sophisticated, romantic, not too fancy

This was by far our favourite restaurant in San Francisco, if not in the world. Thank you to Ben and the rest of the staff who made us feel completely welcome and fortunate to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant; it has set a new standard by which we will compare all other restaurants. Don't miss the gnocchi, brussel sprouts, and the coca cola braised pork, and save room for dessert (especially the fritters, banana cream pie, and cheesecake).

The food had potential but I wasn't impressed. Mango Ahi tacos were mediocre at best. Otherwise the Lobster ravioli was good! Not a lot of food, though.

Of Hyde street's options, Luella's is a less crowded option and one of my favorites for the Coca-Cola braised pork shoulder and orange fritters dessert!

This is another Russian Hill gem. Great food. Beer and Wine only last time I was there. Nice big bar to sit at if you can't get a table.

Luella hasn't shared anything with you.
