Dad of year.
October is Down Syndrome Awareness month so we couldn't think of a better time to share the second set of Wil Can Fly photos. I started this series back on March 21st (National Down Syndrome Day) of this year as a way to illustrate the joy my son (Wil) has brought to our family. Wil has Down Syndrome, but my family and I know that won't stop him from doing anything he puts his mind to - Wil Can Fly.

beautiful
We rarely see polar bears outside of a snowy Arctic environment, but these bears are no strangers to having fun in the summer! In a rare series of images by Canadian photographer Dennis Fast, these white giants are seen frolicking in a field of fireweed. The photos were taken in Northern Canada's Hudson Bay, near lodges run by Churchill Wild in Manitoba. Fast explains his fascination with polar bears in this interview excerpt.

Diana Kim grew up on the Island of Maui where her father was a photographer, which is where she first learned her trade. When her parents split, Kim began to live with friends and relatives, and she lost touch with her father who became “absent.” In 2003 Kim began a long-term photo-project about the homeless; in 2012, she made a shocking discovery. Kim found her father among the homeless she was documenting in Honolulu

I think even in school we were taught (incorrectly) that it was resonance. Amazing write-up and analysis by Alex.

Fall in High Park
Soar over Toronto's High Park and enjoy the city's majestic fall colours in a new aerial drone video by Yuri Tereshyn. You'll get to see the park from a completely new vantage point as Tereshyn's drone weaves its way throughout this expansive west-side green space. The video, which Tereshyn posted...

Amazing
South Korean artist Jae-Hyo Lee is a master of manipulation. He turns discarded pieces of wood into attention-grabbing pieces of art that are both elegant and functional.

"I don’t see worth in dollar signs like I did in the past though. I see worth in natural beauty. I see worth in quality of human life, which greatly revolves around health, happiness, and liberty in my mind. I see worth in abundance and diversity of animal and plant life. I see worth in clean air. I see worth in pure water. I see worth in wholesome food that is available to everyone.   I see worth in infrastructure and systems that provide justice and equality for all."

Cute & creative.
Since 2011, Tatsuya Tanaka has been creating creative and playful miniature dioramas. Not only has he not shown any sign of stopping since we last wrote about him, but he seems to be getting better and better!

Worth the $7 just for the feeling you have leaving (decent photos are an added bonus). I decided to give Passport Photo a try after spending a fortune with unsatisfactory results at Walmart's Photos Unlimited (not recommended although the photos were high quality). I'm now actually kinda bummed it will be at least 10 years until my passport needs renewing again.

I've only ever gone for tire repairs but these guys are great. A team descended on my car like an Indy car pit. They quickly fixed the problem and checked all other tires' pressures and treads. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I wish a had more flats.

The service was subpar. Didn't take VISA. The schnitzel I had was dry and not worth the money. Also, had to pay €0.40 for an extra packet of ketchup.
