Stopped by here after reading up on Westword that this was a top spot for family eats. We are from C Springs and so don't frequent too many Denver establishments but this one is a winner. The outside of the building is misleading so don't let that stop you from giving this place a try. Inside is clean and we'll decorated and has a very comfortable feel. Not sure it would make my list as a family type restaurant but I wouldn't hesitate to take the kids there either. More upscale and formal than I'm used to for a more "family" restaurant. The food is great! Ordered up a house salad that was nothing to special. The real treat is the little garlic nuggets/knots. They are like little savory donuts of deliciousness. We followed those up with a Margherita pizza that was New York style greatness. A great selection of smaller Colorado microbrews on tap sealed the deal for me. Good atmosphere, delicious pizza, and local beer, what more could you ask for.

Went for lunch the first time a couple days ago. The parking lot was full and street parking was busy, always a good sign. Despite being busy, we were seated quickly and service was friendly and attentive. We shared the wings, one got the special (a slice with salad) and one got the meat lovers calzone. All were very good. Pizza is thin crust, all ingredients are fresh and several are local. We will return.

This place is usually pretty hopping and if you are looking to meet people I highly recommend it, however, if you are like me and want your space, what are you doing out on a Friday night? But seriously, I was fine with this place despite the noise and crowd. The pizza is mostly good, but that's not what I'd call Bruschetta. Parking is tight and not always available due to the popularity of the place. The staff is confident, casual, and competent.

Ernie's Bar in Denver is terrible. Not sure how they stay in business other than over priced drinks. We had the antipasto plate which included a mix of olives, cheese and unfortunately rotten meat. To wash down the appetizer we had two "16 oz" beers served in 12 oz glasses. I would not had any more after the antipasto debacle, but we already had ordered "chicken wings" that turned out to be trimmed chicken thighs - that's the cheaper cut. We live in the neighborhood, literally 200 yards away and we will never return.

We came here with our heart set on a specific table. It was the most glorious table I've ever set my eyes on. The server was walking us to the table then BLAM! some fiery vixen swooped in and tableblocked us. Very upset... Aaand I lost my sunglasses today. Food was great though.

I Can't believe the rudeness of the staff and management. We came in for a birthday drink and without warning we had some guy from the back come up and say finish your drinks were done here.. I look at my watch and its 12:01am. Ok I get it your closing, but you JUST brought us a round and drinks and food then one by one management and staff are all coming up and saying get out were turning out the lights whether you're done or not. Hell of way to treat locals. I have come here before and had a few decent experiences, but they don't treat customers well. Do yourself a favor and go to Billy's down the street. You will be treated way better than these people. Good Job Ernies you just lost a few customers.
