Shoe Repair History

1990 Ben and Frank collected historical shoe repair tools and equipment. Their collection is on display at the Walton Historical Association http://www.villageofwalton.com/history.html.

The Shoe Place

1980 in 142 Delaware Street, Walton, New York

[1980-1986]: The Shoe Place is opened to provide discount shoe offerings. Previously a savings and loan, the building was renovated to house The Shoe Place.

Frank's wife, Norma assists with shoe sales and other business needs.
{Generation 3}
Frank's son, David assists with shoe repairs and other business needs. Frank's son-in-law, Michael assists with shoe sales and repairs.  Frank's daughter, Nancy and daughter-in-law assist with shoe sales.
{Generation 4}
Frank's grandchildren, Matthew, Mikaelan and Daniel assist with shoe sales, repairs and other operational needs.

[1998] Ben retires.
[1960] Tony's moves to a new location, expands footwear offerings and adds services. High quality footwear, small-large sizes, narrow-extra wide widths, shoe repair and orthopedic work are provided.

Tony's Shoe Shop

1940 in 110 Delaware Street, Walton, New York

[1983] Tony's Old Location gets a facelift.
[1963] Tony's 110 Delaware Street location is relabeled 'Tony's Old Location' and operates part time as a shoe outlet for specialty sales by Mary (Guerra) Cucciarre, Anthony's wife.
[1960] Anthony retires.

{Generation 2}
[1948-1950] Anthony's sons, Benjamin (Ben) and Francis (Frank) join the business as partners. New shoe lines are added.
[1940] Anthony moves the repair business to Delaware Street.
