"Wildflowers" by Caged Animals I've spent most of the summer unsuccessfully driving a manual lawnmower around my yard. Instead of cutting the chest high weeds we inherited when we moved here, it simply bent them over. Dandeli...

Pairing Slotface with Beer, Brussels and Vegan Bacon.
I woke up this morning with a pounding headache. I replayed last night in my head to see if I could place the source of my pain. Had I eaten Brazil nuts? Snorted lines of fermented cheeses? Did I do shots of vinegar again? Un...

Five spring breaks ago my wife and I spent a few days in Asheville. We were spending two nights in a hostel before moving to a bed and breakfast for a night before coming back to the hostel for one more night (if you didn't c...

The one where I highlight the vegan food I ate in Brooklyn
Back in April, an invitation arrived for J-Fur and I to attend a wedding in Brooklyn. We were stoked. We started making plans for a weeklong tour of the city. I bookmarked the sh** out of all the vegan restaurants in the area...

"Better in the Summer" by A Billion Lions A quick Google search of "food that tastes better in the summer" brings up a Lifehack article that lists eleven foods that fit this description. You know what is not on the list? Wine...

Where they Eat: Techtonic at Ezell's Famous Chicken
Seattle based brothers Evan and Tyler Gilsdorf, the duo behind Techtonic, have just released their new track "You Told Me." The single is a hymnal for all those who worship at the feet of summery, future bass. For those of us...

New food inspired song by Bellows
Way up in Northern Michigan there is a mom and pop tonic water bottle making plant. This plant has remained in the same family generation after generation. Their tonic water bottle design has also been pretty static since the...

Where we eat: Buttermilk Provisions
Rumor has it Dana M., owner and chief baker of Buttermilk Provisions in Wesley Chapel, used to go on all out baking binges around the holidays. She would ask anyone important enough to be worth inviting to come to her place a...

Food flavored song: Apple Pie by Rafferty
When I think of Apple Pies, I think of a mouthwatering blend of sweet, tart and crisp apples swirled superbly with cinnamon, brown sugar and, perhaps, a slight sprinkling of nutmeg or lemon (if I want to get a little funky). ...

Write.Click.Cook.Listen. These are my four horsemen of the apocalypse, the things I keep hidden from the majority of people, choosing to disclose them to the privileged few. If you happened across this blog, consider yourself one of the privileged. Like in Terry Pratchett's novel Thief of Time, there is a fifth horseman, dance, but he removed himself before the blog began, citing personal reasons. The goal of this blog is simple. Playlists around the common theme of cooking. I love lists, almost as much as music, and I love to cook. I plan on combining these ideas, along with photography, to create a unique place to visit. Each month I plan to unveil a different playlist featuring a variety of music. You will find mostly indie rock and punk, and I'll try to keep it new music. That doesn't mean that if the Foo Fighters come out with a song about pizza next week, and it fits my playlist, I won't use it. It just means I'll try not to.
Introduction
I cook, I listen to music, I do them both at the same time.
Bragging rights
I've never puked while running.
