New comment system is up. http://toldyu.com/
Been working on it for over a month, even stopped make comics because I've felt sad about not having working comments for years. Ironically, it's been so long that now there's hardly anyone around to test or enjoy it.
Those who remember Version 1 of the system, know it's not an ordinary comment system. These comments are real-time and support many cool features. It's hard to realize how unique the experience is until you're actually having a conversation with someone. So I encourage you to try and find someone online and spark up a conversation. Perhaps the community can be rebuilt with some effort. It only takes a couple seconds to make an account - just a username, password, and email (no email verification required).
You can comment below any comic at http://909sickle.net/
or you can go to http://toldyu.com/
and choose any topic to talk about. Just type a topic or website in the box and press enter.
There are two communities you can talk in: +toldyu and +909sickle -- hopefully more to started later. Use +toldyu for general talk and +909sickle for comic talk. +toldyu has a dark color scheme to save on power relax the eyes, while +909sickle has a color scheme that matches the comic the site.
Version 2 now supports markdown code and emojis. Here's an introduction to the features: http://toldyu.com/n/9926
-- and you can reply to this post: http://toldyu.com/n/9927
with bugs and suggestions for things to improve
After working on it for so long, any feedback would be useful, even if there's things you don't like - would be helpful to know. I'm already planning Version 3. Halfway through the development I discovered Node.JS, so the update server is built on Node, but the rest is still PHP based. V3 will be 100% Node.JS if possible and will add more features.
