Longtime family-owned diner-style spot serving an American seafood & steak menu 3 meals a day.- Google
"Large shrimp, and absolutely the best fried flounder in existence."
"Best seafood platter and prices in the entire Grand Strand."

Our family decided to try Hoskins based on a friend recommendation and the positive online reviews. We arrived early at 4pm to try to beat the crowd and had to wait 30 minutes outside in the blazing July sun because they close and don't reopen until 4:30. My husband ordered a flounder and shrimp combination and he expected to get a large amount of food for the price it cost ($20). His plate was extremely small for the price. The restaurant is tiny and you can barely move around. You have to wait in line for the salad bar and the line had to start forming in the kitchen area because it was taking up so much space in the already tiny restaurant. My mother in law asked for a small cup of slaw to go with her flounder plate and was told she would be charged since she already had went through the salad bar line once and didn't get any then. I expect better service than that since you are charged inflated prices for your food. I think the reason this place is so well reviewed is because it's 60 years old and people are so nostalgic about it. None of my family was impressed and we would not go back.

Wait staff is not friendly. Flounder is bland with mostly just bones. Needs to expand menu choices

We were looking for a small family restaurant and we found it here! Prices were very reasonable! Food was great and the staff were amazing. It was freezing cold inside and they offered my children sweaters. Normally I wouldn't do that but they were so cold. I had the gumbo. The only thing that could've made it better is if it had shrimp in it too.

One of the oldest seafood places in North Myrtle Beach and worth a wait. Hoskins was busy but they got our food out quickly and had a really good meal. Generous portions of fried seafood and the fish tacos were great. We'll definitely be back.

We had to wait a very long time and multiple people were sat that came after us. The food was pretty good and our waitress was great. I wouldn't wait that long for the food again.

It was ok for home cooking. Came here for lunch and got the broiled platter. The scallops were amazing but the rest of platter was over cooked. Staff was frazzled but nice.

I've been coming here with my family for years. They have fantastic food and a very friendly staff. I recommend the flounder or fried oysters. SO GOOD!
