This is far and away my favorite seafood restaurant in the Myrtle Beach Area. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are plentiful, and I have NEVER EVER had fried shrimp that tastes better than theirs. The shrimp are good size, the taste is light, clean, and flavorful. The fried flounder is also good, as well as the side dishes. I could go on forever but I'll leave it at this: Great service, friendly people, unbeatable seafood and chicken. You won't regret trying Hoskins! Sometimes there is a line - it's worth the wait!

Our family decided to try Hoskins based on a friend recommendation and the positive online reviews. We arrived early at 4pm to try to beat the crowd and had to wait 30 minutes outside in the blazing July sun because they close and don't reopen until 4:30. My husband ordered a flounder and shrimp combination and he expected to get a large amount of food for the price it cost ($20). His plate was extremely small for the price. The restaurant is tiny and you can barely move around. You have to wait in line for the salad bar and the line had to start forming in the kitchen area because it was taking up so much space in the already tiny restaurant. My mother in law asked for a small cup of slaw to go with her flounder plate and was told she would be charged since she already had went through the salad bar line once and didn't get any then. I expect better service than that since you are charged inflated prices for your food. I think the reason this place is so well reviewed is because it's 60 years old and people are so nostalgic about it. None of my family was impressed and we would not go back.

Wait staff is not friendly. Flounder is bland with mostly just bones. Needs to expand menu choices

This place is awesome. I didn't know what to expect in such a small place. We got pancakes and waffles which both were great. We have three days left on vacation and I'm sure we will be back here at least once or twice. We had great service and no wait which is all you can ask for when you're out to eat.

We had to wait a very long time and multiple people were sat that came after us. The food was pretty good and our waitress was great. I wouldn't wait that long for the food again.
