Magic BarsLast week I wandered the aisles of Publix picking up items to make Key Lime Pie. Summertime just speaks citrus dessert to me.I grabbed the graham crackers and sighed at how I would waste half the box not needed for the pie. I mused about what else I could make with the grahams and rolled throug

I found myself giggling when reading your essay. I giggled out of nervousness when waiting hear how your husband's family would respond to you. Would they accept you? And they did. Loved it! On a technical note, I noticed a spacing issue between your second and third sentence.

Julian'sIf you grew up in Daytona Beach or visited Daytona Beach during the 70’s or 80’s, it is most likely you ate at Julian’s. Julian’s was a restaurant that was an A Frame structure right on A1A in Ormond Beach just north of the Daytona Beach city line. It was billed as a fine dining experience with

I love the paragraph about the end of the meal as well as the final paragraph. Both really spoke to me about the relationship of the restaurant with your family and how it was something tying your family together. My only suggestion, aside from standard re-reading, is to maybe play with your sentence length. I think some paragraphs (especially the two I mentioned) had great flow and others were right on the edge of being awesome. Thanks so much for sharing! This piece made me wish I was back in Theo's, the restaurant I grew up with. :)

Whatever you do don't buy anything from this company. Will charge you for the product and not ship, I've been waiting 13 days for an item "in stock" to ship and still nothing. Also they must have caller ID or something because they are no longer answering my calls. Working with my CC company on disputing the charge. Again do not buy from this company.
