Crumble & Flake Patisserie
1500 E Olive Way, Seattle, WA 98122

The question we get most often (other than "what's a kouign amann?") is "what time do you normally sell out". We wish there was a simple, short answer, but it's hard to predict and actually varies quite a bit depending on weather, events on Capitol Hill, or Crumble & Flake appearing in the press. There are some super busy days where we still sell out by 11:00 am, but we've also been open as late as 2:00 pm several days in the past couple of weeks. There does seem to be a bit of a pattern emerging, though:

Wednesday/Thursday - These are typically the "slowest" days of the week and there is rarely a line in the morning. Lately we've been open as late as 1:00 or 2:00 pm, though later in the day the selection is naturally more limited.

Friday - This is actually our busiest day with many people purchasing large boxes of pastry for their offices. Sometimes we have a short line very early and many of the breakfast type items start to sell out in the first couple of hours.

Saturday/Sunday - We still usually have a bit of a line when we first open on the weekends, though it often only lasts for the first 30-45 minutes. After that we still have a good selection left and there is little if any wait. Closing time can range between Noon and 2:00 pm

All this said, if there are specific pastries you are craving - especially popular items like the kouign amann, canelés and cinnamon rolls that tend to sell out very quickly - it is best to come by as early as possible for the best selection. We usually have a good supply of dessert type goodies all day, such as macarons, cheweos, cookies and brownies.

Business does seem to be settling down a bit (thank goodness!) and the days of selling out in the first hour appear to be behind us. We're looking forward to bringing out new flavors for the Fall and Winter and continuing to bring a little sweetness to our corner of Capitol Hill.

I'm so excited business continues to be brisk but perhaps settling into a calmer pace. Someday we hope to come find some of your goodies on a lucky day.
