Why don't you come down to Half Moon Bay's Pumpkin Festival tomorrow? Just get there early. The crowds and the traffic are pretty epic!

If you are there, you might run into +Joseph Smarr of the Google+ team. He lives in town and I hear he's gonna join the acrobatic group here for a fun show. :-)

My 30-Day Habit Change
I started 30 Days of Yoga this morning, by +Marianne Elliott. It was lovely.

I am doing a habit challenge with the members of my course, The Habit Course (http://habitcourse.com). Today was Day 1. My challenge is doing yoga every day after my morning coffee -- just 5 minutes to start with.

So I only did the first 5 minutes of the 30 Days of Yoga course, and wanted to keep going. But I stopped myself. I am purposely starting small, as I recommend to others.

Today I started, and am celebrating! I plan to post every day, here on G+, on how my habit challenge is going. I'd love to get feedback, support, encouragement, accountability, etc. from all of you here.

I've always wondered about the realtionship between coffee and dancing goats. Thanks, +Matthew Inman! Now I know! And knowing is half the battle. Cup of Joe!

Untangling

Probably the #1 thing I'm working on through my new commitment to Buddhism is the effort to untangle myself from other people's feelings and emotions. Everyone has their own emotions and histories and experiences that they bring to any interaction. For you (me) to hope to satisfy other people's emotional needs is setting ourselves up for failure. The best we can hope to do is work on us, to live in such a way as to understand our own positives and negatives, and to try and observe what goes on inside of ourselves.

Mind reading doesn't work. We can't predict the reactions of others. My work of the last several months is to learn how to "sit with myself" and not judge myself, not try and "fix" myself, but to observe all the various inputs and outputs that come into play when I do or think something. And then, I try and be myself (in the deepest possible way I can say that).

Untangle. Let other people have their feelings and emotions. Be yourself.
