Thank you to all who sent kind words for Molly's surgery. She is doing well post-surgery, aside from some minor complications related to anesthesia. She is recovering and conscious at the hospital. I have not seen her yet, as it's important not to elicit movement. More TBD...

Pro tip if you screw up and aim to apologize -- "I'm sorry you feel [emotion]" is not an apology. "I'm sorry I __" puts the responsibility in the right place.

My brain in a 7T (7 Tesla) MRI. 7T is so strong that a chair in the room could be made to effectively float -- pick up one side and drop it, and it glides down in ultra-slow-motion. The effect on perception was noticeable, too. Rolling into the machine (a straight line on a gurney) felt like I was going around a hairpin turn. Wild stuff.
