There are a lot of great events that benefit charities, but Mr. Legs for Bridge House/Grace House stands on its own with creativity and fun. Come watch as the male contestants strut their stuff on the Generation’s Hall runway in costumes and shorts. All guests are welcomed to hoot and holler to support the contestant that has earned the title of Mr. Legs. Prizes are awarded for best costume, hairiest legs, sexiest legs, and even more unique categories. The event features food, a complimentary bar from 6-8 PM, music, a raffle, and silent auction. The contestant that raises the most money for Bridge House/Grace House through ticket sales, sponsors, or donations is awarded the coveted title of Mr. Legs.

In Louisiana, it was customary for Mondays to be wash day. Before there were washing machines and dryers, women did there laundry outdoors. They filled their washtubs with soap and water, and agitated the clothing on washboards. Then, the clothing would go into another tub to rinse and the laundry was put through the ringer. The laundry was then hung on the line to dry. After all that hard work, the ironing had to be done too. Doing the laundry was an all day affair which left little time for cooking.
