How to begin this review? Few countries that debuted in the 1700s have been as controversial or long running (it’s into its 236th season now) as America. It may not have the staying power of perennial...

Just read an article on the 11 ways Obamacare will benefit the US people. Strange how obvious a scam the whole medical insurance thing is when some of the loopholes have been tied up.
Then I read some of the comments on the piece. Bizarre is one word; people complaining that taxes will rise for this (0.8% for those earning over 200k), and that it will kill any motivation for people to work as they can just sponge off the system now (first off, if you can get a job ay all, good on you, the economy stinks. Secondly, this is one of those tired arguments that happens every time someone mentions benefits, but with no actual proof to back it up. We've had a welfare state for decades, and yet we haven't descended into total joblessness. We were even doing quite well until the 1% (dont tax or even think of blaming them, for God's sake!) ruined it for everyone.). Those crazy yanks...

Lovely twist on a fairytale. Has edge in a way Grimm really doesn't.

This benefits thing Cameron is wheeling out seems like a "Let them eat cake" scenario. In a time when there's record unemployment, it's effectively throwing those living on benefits alone to the wolves. The private sector won't support you, and now neither will the public.

Ok. So I feel a little bit guilty for snagging g+ in beta then never using it. Pretty much what I did for google wave too. So, i'm going to endeavour to use g+ more than I do fb or Twitter, despite the fact it seems to be dead amongst my friends. Maybe if I start talking, someone will listen. Or will my words drift off into the uncaring void, forever unheard (and therefore never to have existed in the first place, of course)?
Do say hello if you're out there...

That's how I roll, one hand on the gin and the other in your gutter...

Good to see you back... I read a interesting article about G+ today, highlighting that even though when people think privacy, they hardly ever think about Google, when that's exactly what G+ gives you, over the different ways the others "work". This was it: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamespoulos/2012/05/17/google-plus-isnt-addictive-isnt-that-a-plus/

Oh yeah, totally, It's all about the value of data and advertising. Both go about it in different ways. I'm sure Google will have to do it to Plus, but I bet they do it in a different way since they have Adwords/Adsense/Analytics/General SEO/Android to subsidise it all.

You know I like my analogies, and this may work or not, but it's a little like facebook are making their money like a mid-level cable/sat channel, using all the tricks to keep you tuned in and whore out advertising space where they can. Whereas Google is BSkyB, making money from all the other channels.
