I have been sick for 3 days with fever, migraines, no appetite, and strange lumps on my throat. I arrived at the Seton Medical Center ER in Harker Heights at 8:30 a.m. I was brought back to room 12 right in front of the nurses station, within a 30 minute period, to take my vitals, the nurse was in very shortly after. I told her everything that was going on with me and the doctor came in within 10 minutes. At this point I was very surprised and pleased with their assertiveness. The doctor ordered blood work, X-Ray, and strep test. This is when the waiting began. The strep test was done right away, by 9:30 or so. I waited for another hour before a nurse came in to do my blood work. I got called in shortly after for my chest X-Ray. I than waited for 3 HOURS!! In this time my mother, who came with me, went outside to the nurses station. She was spoken to very rudely by another doctor just telling her to "press the nurse button!" She didn't even say anything to him, just walked outside of my room! Than after calling the nurse in, on 3 different occasions, all of them who which said "I will let the doctor know and push him your way." At this point it is already 1:30 in the afternoon! My mother proceeds to call and text my father during my whole visit to let him know the process. Since we were seeing NO results from the staff, my father called up to the Hospital Administration. Within 15 minutes of that phone call the doctor finally came in to check on me and let me know the results of my tests, 4 hours later after taking them! We than waited 20 more minutes to be discharged and finally left the ER after 5 1/2 hours! This hospital has NO concern for your well being. They only had 1 doctor working in the ER! I think for a business that just opened, especially a HOSPITAL, they need to be very well staffed!! I do not recommend this Hospital to anyone and will gladly take the drive to Temple to go to Scott & White in the future!
