We are using state-of-the-art #technology to reveal secrets of naval hero Horatio Nelson and Prime Minister William Pitt the Elder.

The project has brought together the UK's leading radiographers, conservation experts and medical data analysts to discover more about the structure and composition of the heads, which are part of Westminster Abbey's collection of historic wax funeral effigies currently undergoing conservation before they go back on display.

We are encouraging our staff to take regular breaks. The HALT (hungry, angry, late, tired) campaign launched this week at Guy's and St Thomas', will make staff aware that taking enough breaks can help them to provide the highest standard of patient care, by putting them in a position to make the best decisions for patients.

March is #prostatecancerawarenessmonth. Last year, surgeons at Guy’s and St Thomas’ pioneered the NHS’s first use of 3D printing to enhance the precision and accuracy of robotic cancer surgery.
By printing a 3D model of a patient’s cancerous prostate, surgeons were able to see and feel his tumour before surgery so they could plan the most precise robotic removal. Read more: http://bit.ly/2m2PSK7 #NHS #prostatecancer #3Dprinting #technology

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the British Geriatrics Society, HRH The Prince of Wales visited St Thomas' Hospital on Monday 6 March. He chatted to staff who are leading the way in improving older people’s care both in hospital and community settings and met patients who have benefited from the expertise of our staff.

The Prince also met Little Dorrit, a tiny dog that visits older patients in hospital as part of the Pets as Therapy scheme. #NHS
