This review is regarding brunch. They do pancakes really, really well. The delicious sweet potato pancakes with pecans were incredibly light and fluffy in texture, yet rich in flavor. The pancakes are perfect for sharing and then getting another savory dish to balance them out. We also had the "breakfast" burger, which is to say a burger with an egg-over-easy on top. All the burger ingredients were high quality, including the fresh baked bun. The zucchini carrot bread was good, but the accompanying marmalade really enhanced it. Coffee is French Press or Americano. The adorable house-turned-restaurant makes for a very pleasant venue, and there are nice options for outdoor patio or picnic-style seating as well. Parking is a challenge as there are only three spots, so you are left on your own to find a spot in the surrounding neighborhood.

Delicious plates. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Great for brunch. It is a less formal version of Jeffrey's but still held to the quality of Jeffrey's.

This is the perfect date spot or to meet up with a friend or two--light but yummy food, great drinks, and smooth service. They even have Stumptown Coffee--my favorite! The patio is perfect for sitting back with a few drinks and a bread basket. A friend treated me to lunch otherwise I'm not sure I could afford to go this place on a regular/casual basis. If I could just win lotto, I'd be here all the time!

One of the first things I did on my visit to Austin was ride the bus across town to W. Lynn and walk about 10 minutes up to Josephine House. One word: adorable. I wanted to take this restaurant home with me. Inventive but satisfying food and a light and refreshing cocktail I enjoyed at my solo lunch without shame. I would absolutely love to sit at one of their outdoor tables some afternoon and clink cocktails with girlfriends for hours but alas, I was just a visitor to Austin. The staff was incredibly friendly and I told them I'd be back... it didn't happen in my few days this visit, but next time for sure.

"May I always feel how I feel when I'm about to eat cake." A quote I heard on a Moth podcast sums up Josephine House entirely. Clean bright whites make the place feel as fresh and crisp as the prosecco in your hand. Enjoy a glass on the lawn or in one of the cozy nooks in the back. This is where you go when you want to show off your Sunday best or just feel good. Take a moment and a breath as you repeat the mantra above while taking your first bite of chocolate cake.

it's like you are walking into ina garten's home. lovely ambiance and great service (something that is lacking in austin). a seasonal menu that boasts local produce and exciting entrees. quality place to eat lunch and dinner. they also host fantastic guest chef dinners, so def check that out. and i still need to go to steak night on Monday's! since their menu changes, its hard to suggest fave items. but i've never been disappointed by this place. def place to take out-of-town visitors when you want something a bit nicer but not uber stuffy. you may want to call ahead and make a reservation. they recommend it.

Great Lunch; enjoyed both of our entrees; splitting the hand pies and pomodoro. So what could make good food taste even better when it comes with great service. thanks to our waitress Summer; she was helpful and enjoyed having fun with helping us make our decisions. then she goes above and beyond with a comp berry tart for a belated birthday celebration.

Pros: The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. They've paid close attention to the details of the bathroom, etc. The menu is frequently updated, so it's hard to get bored here. The hash and biscuits and gravy were equally delicious. The fresh-squeezed orange juice is always incredible. Cons: The service has been a bit slow both times. But the waiters were nice.
