I love the latest @New Yorker cover. What does it make you imagine? For me, it evokes the wonderful quiet and remote solitude you can find outside in ‪#‎winter‬. Standing silent and warm outside in winter is a magical feeling.

Storm hole.
Mo emerges after a storm on Hudson Bay during a Voyageur Outward Bound School staff expedition. Dogs know what to do during a storm, hunker down and let the drift form a wind shelter.

Thanks to the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Assn for hosting me as their keynote speaker for this morning at their annual safety conference. It was fantastic be back in the north country. I've got big respect for the work the lineman do. Photo: Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative

Rubble ramp.
Leverage, lean, and get out of the way. With a patient mindset, route finding through rubble is endlessly entertaining...if you are in a hurry it is hell. On the way to the North Pole, the world's most beautiful ski tour. #throwbackthursday
Come hear me tell stories next Tuesday, 12/15, 7pm at the Alpine Shop in Kirkwood, Missouri for a @BergansUSA sponsored event.

Frosted farm field forest.
Late morning Sunday I came across this zone of heavily frosted trees and fog filtered sunlight outside of DeKalb, Illinois. It made me pull off the interstate and hit the backroads.
