This is something I posted a while ago, after I'd gotten tired of repeating the same points every time I encountered someone who had posted a new pet theory.

Here's a nice backing track for anyone who's trying to bridge the gap between blues and jazz.
We already have it !!

This is the band I've been playing in for the past three years. The audio is from the one CD that I've contributed to.
Here's a video made from footage from a recent Red Sammy gig, The audio is taken from a studio album from a couple years ago. It sort of fits.

That's me in the hat (and on electric guitar on the recording).

I haven't seen any discussion about the Long Strange Trip documentary here - did I miss it? I can't imagine I'm the only one here who's seen it. ;-)

For the record, I watched it twice last weekend and really loved it.

This is a fascinating read for anyone who's into the history of the Dead's gear. As a musician I've long known about and owned several pieces of Furman gear, but I had never known the story of Janet Furman and her connection with Alembic and the Dead.
