We saw they were running a special on one of their internet plans last year and decided to sign up. Between the router and setup, we spent over $200 before we even left the store or paid for internet use. They told us that the 'Email Plan' we signed up for would run at 1.5mbps, but after running speed tests and logging the information for the first six months, we were averaging 1.3mbps with a good signal. That speed has steadily decreased, and we are now getting between .5-1mbps with the same signal strength (you can hit a button to check it on the router). At this point, it's pretty much impossible to watch Netflix uninterrupted, and pages often time out in our browsers if we have two devices trying to load content simultaneously. If we had a poor connection to the tower I could understand, but that isn't the case. Edit: We were not running multiple streams, the content we were trying to load was email and Facebook on our laptops. Netflix was not running at the time. Our internet has since recovered to the initial speed, so we are able to load Netflix and browse just fine now. We've had Charter before and have experienced slow connection speeds when it's busy, but the drops on this network last for days at a time. We have considered upgrading, but the more expensive internet plan is $15 more per month than a wired connection.
