Thank you for the invite! I teach 24 kindergarten kids in South Carolina. I always have a few kids with special needs and several who come in at times to visit... I also have an 18 year old son who has Aspergers. He is a senior this year! :) I have a blog too - My Kindergarten Kids.
He lives at school which is about 45 minutes from home. His father paid for him to attend a private boarding school for high school (was about 30 min from home). That is where he really blossomed. The academics were rigorous and the environment was very structured. It helped him to transition to college. He does not have a 501 plan. He is very high functioning and got a 4.0 the first semester. Please don't take that as bragging. He also has OCD and gets obsessed with his school work and reading. He still struggles socially, has mood swings, won't get a job, and just a few months ago got his driver's license. In my opinion, if you have a local junior/2 yr college, that would probably be a good start. How does your son do academically? It was so nice to chat with you!
