Half the country's nightclubs have apparently closed their doors in the last few years. Why the decline? In 1985 John Hiatt, that prince among singer songwriters, penned the lyric to Real Man: "You get no shocks from that computer program come on and rock with a real man”. I’d say John Hiatt saw it coming. Computer generated music tends to be dull, computers can’t subvert the rhythms they establish. The best of electronica, for want of a better generic description, is compelling but in a similar way to pornography - compelling but ultimately not satisfying. And then there is the reproduction - too many venues confuse volume for fidelity and too much electronic music is the auditory equivalent of looking at jpegs - the detail and harmonics are compressed out of existence. Rubbish in, rubbish out as they say - the sound systems of night clubs don't make sounds better, just louder. Night club owners: You want to make your venues swing? Bring back live musicians….In the meantime from the time from 1967 when the wha wha pedal was cutting edge our vintage posters t shirt.

The twin daughters of one of our customers wearing their father’s t shirts: The Uncertainty Principle that admires and examines the argument between Einstein and Heisenberg and Instant Karma admiring John Lennon, both by Daniel Davidson.  The father tells me until now his daughters have never paid attention to what he wears, even less been inclined to wear his clothes.  We have produced some appropriately sized shirts…  If you want the children’s shirts, £18 each (£25 adults) please send us an email, the children’s sizes are presently not listed on our website but we have a limited stock of shirts suitable for 7-8yr olds.

When in London this is one of my regular stops, because they combine excellent designs (in a wide variety as well) with high end quality T-shirts. My personal favorites are the camera designs by Miyamoto. Yes, they are not "cheap" but you'll value them! Take my word for it. They also work great as gifts and if you wish you can bring your design to have it printed. The also sell through their website, but I still suggest to pop in and see&touch for yourself. Turn around time for printing or actually transferring the design on the T-shirt is about 15 mins. Wearing properties: 5* Washing properties: 5*

Great shirts...I have purchased many. Good customer support and very helpful. Sadly I will never purchase another since they increased the cost of a basic printed shirt from £18.00 to £29.00!!! Sadly I think they are deluded. They sell good quality shirts with cool designs...thats it! Get over yourselves.

Chris, Thank you for your review. Two things drove the price increases: Post - our costs have doubled since Dec 2008 when we established our old prices, the new prices include postage, the old ones quoted did not - and CoolMax fresh FX fibres. Our new shirts are uniquely made of these fibres. These fibres are between nine and ten times more expensive than the standard article but in my lengthy experience worth every penny of the net increase in the price of our shirts. No one apart from us offers shirts made of these fibres ring spun into yarns suitable for the production of t shirts in Europe, The Middle East, or Africa, EMEA in corporate speak. This is likely to apply to the whole of the world but I cannot make that claim because I don't know that there isn't someone doing as we are in Austral Asia or the Americas. But the price of the fibres makes it unlikely. The t shirt market is tending to be more commoditised than less. The pressure is on lower prices and quality rather than vice versa. We moved to these fibres because the resulting shirts are durable and enduringly comfortable in a way our old ones were not. There is a new shirt at old prices waiting for you if you are game to test my claims. And if you don't like the shirt after you have tried it we will refund you, in full, worn or otherwise. Excellent store based on a really novel concept 'Admiration through Inspiration' with designs based around some of the most inspirational figures and concepts in our history. From David Bowie to the Heisenberg uncertainty principal the designs are truly unique and you can have any one of their thousands of designs printed right there in store. Both the quality of print (in to the fabric rather than on top of) and the material are excellent and you won't experience any fade after wear and washing!

Talked to Theo last Christmas about a T-Shirt for my son for Christmas. He wanted a watch - an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. They're about £ 3,500! Theo made me a unique t-shirt instead. He researched the image and made a fantastic job of reproducing it. He also enclosed a note on the origin of the watch mechanism. Apparently he wants an Audi this year - I'll be in touch shortly Theo.

Paul, just catching up here, its an age thing. I'd say the watch to now aspire to is a Roger Smith - he learned his trade from George Daniels and has refined the Daniel's co-axal escapement into a hand built 18,000 oscillations per hour, almost constant friction, masterpiece of artistic and artisanal expression that at about the same money as a trumpy Ferrari looks expensive. It might look like a contest but its not, over a lifetime said Ferrari would come a distant 2nd. Theo Stegers
