Janet and Google Education Event Invitation
We would like to announce an exciting new partnership which has just been agreed between Google and Janet, part of the Jisc group.

Janet has negotiated on behalf of all their members a Google Apps for Education contract to meet UK legal requirements. All Janet members in the UK are now eligible to sign up to Google Apps for Education using this agreed contract. This agreement ensures consistency for all UK universities and colleges using Google Apps for Education, and the peace of mind that Google’s processes and contract have been thoroughly reviewed and approved by Janet.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the launch event of this new partnership. This would provide an opportunity for universities and colleges to learn more.

The event will take place:
October 8th from 10.30 am until 2pm
Google’s Central St Gilles Offices: 1-13 St Giles High St, London WC2H 8AG

The agreement ensures consistency for all UK Higher and Further education, and peace of mind that Google’s processes and terms and conditions have been thoroughly reviewed and approved by Janet.

How can I request the new agreement?

Please contact cloud@ja.net if you would like to learn more or would like to gain access to the Janet amended documentation.

Our university has used Google Apps for Education for years. Can we sign up to this new agreement?

The National Monograph Strategy recently held its third workshop to begin sketching out some of the ideas that had been generated in past workshops.

We now have 8 ideas that have a little more flesh on the bone, and begin to form part of a national approach to creating, managing, preserving and digitising monographs.
