History reader, devoted runner, music lover.
I am a long time resident of Seattle, where I did my undergraduate and graduate studies in mathematics at the University of Washington.  My talented writer wife of 35 years and I met there as grad students, and we have been together ever since. We have two wonderful daughters, Natalie and Ana, both graduates of great liberal arts schools and both now working to move onto the next phase of their lives.  We live in the Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle, unique for its attractions and early history, though I think few people today know that Greenlake Bar & Grill sits where Mayor Wood's cow use to graze, or that an electric trolley once ran around the lake

In my professional life, I help attorneys market themselves using various online tools and venues.  I was one of the first companies in Washington state to do this, going back to the early days of the World Wide Web. During those frenetic dot-com bubble years, I sold the Washington State Bar Association on the idea of a CLE on the Internet for attorneys, and despite initial skepticism these programs ended up being great successes.  Imagine.

I have been a serious runner for 40 years, and follow a rigorous schedule of running and weight training that has allowed me to maintain my running weight from 30 years ago. My passion is history and travel, the last especially to places with historical or cultural significance from the past.
Bragging rights
Wonderful daughters, a wonderful writer wife, and great health.

I have been to Gregg's Greenlake Cycle many, many times over the years, beginning in the early 1970s when I purchased my first bike there so I could commute to the UW for classes. Over the last couple of years I have purchased a lot of equipment through Gregg's, including a Specialized Tricross and a Specialized Roubaix as I added biking to my running regimen. I have found the customer service throughout to be splendid, including knowledgeable and responsive staff. And I've especially appreciated the occasions when I would drop by unannounced in need of an adjustment or advice, and staff would devote 10 or 15 minutes of their time helping me, often at no cost. This is my experience, based on four decades of visits to Gregg's Greenlake Cycle.

> I'm bummed because I'm a PC user and really want to continue to like Microsoft products but I increasingly find I rely on Apple more and more and because of the customer experience I am likely to keep moving into their camp for products. And yet . . . the Apple and Microsoft stores have identical Google ratings . . .

Great food, but over-priced for the dish servings, which could easily be confused for appetizers. And $4.50 for a bottle of Moretti beer, $2.20 for a cup of coffee . . . we were disappointed, sorry to say.
