+Techmoan !! That wifi password entry was a total tease to us old guys, and I'm a little green that I didn't think of something that clever for my own network!! 😊 You do a great job with your reviews and your editing.

Scanning Double-Sided Documents With a Single Sheet Scanner Under Linux
I like to keep documents.  Receipts, statements, manuals, pamphlets, you name it.  I file things away in hanging folders for later reference. Since the kiddos came along it has gotten harder and harder to make time for all of this organization, and with a h...

Set your Raspberry Pi shell prompt to another color
I've got two terminal windows open, one is on my local machine and the other is on my Raspberry Pi.  The problem I've got is that when I'm switching back and forth I sometimes forget if I'm in the correct window or not.  Here is what they look like: They lo...

How do people click "thumbs down" on videos like this? I swear there are bots that do this.

This is amazing.

Regarding RP's Facebook post on this topic: "We had about 1.5 million views and about 3k shares, so it's definitely getting some attention."

3000/1500000 = 0.2% of viewers shared, the rest ignored

I am a longtime Paul supporter, but I stand with many others in this thread who don't agree with Ron on this issue.

Protip:  sshfs works great from Linux desktop --> Raspberry Pi.  I've mounted a source directory on Rpi with sshfs and I can edit files from my desktop using gvim (with nice colors, mouse, etc.).  This is much better than what I was doing before.   #raspberrypi   #linux   #ssh   #sshfs

Programming an ATMega (168, 328) using your Arduino as a programmer
You might be working on a project with your Arduino, and you've decided that it is time to move your project OFF of the Arduino board.  There are a lot of reasons for doing so: Make your project smaller Eliminate the stuff you don't need (voltage regulator,...

(sarcasm)

All the usual bases covered while discussing Net Neutrality: 9/11, the Patriot Act, property rights, department of Homeland Security.

Very useful, thank you.

You're leaning on that Model 100... I can't put into words how bad I wanted that as a kid. I used to draw pictures of it.

Come here for lunch or early in the day. If you come here at night or anytime its packed, you get this typical Grand Rapids style seating, it's really awesome. Here's how it works: You walk in the door and stand in a line. You scan the room looking for people who are wiping their mouths, yawning, or paying the bill. Your heart rate elevates as you've targeted a table about to vacate... Just as you're ready to pounce on it, it gets sniped by someone else who spotted it. Doesn't that sound like fun? This game can last 30 minutes or more. You can grab a table from anywhere in line too, this is the 'honor system' and the entitled individuals in the middle of the line often feel free to grab openings as they appear. There are several GR restaurants that use this method to fill up their tables -- they don't want to bother with a host who will give you a wait time and walk you to a table when it opens up. It's pathetic. That being said, the beer is awesome, some of the best in the state, and the sandwiches and light fare they serve is also very good. I love Founder's beer but to visit this place is much like going to a circus. Skip it.

Back in 2001 I used a map of Clarkston and a compass (the kind that draws circles) to find my house within a walking distance of the Union. I'm not kidding. Since it has appeared on the Food Network it is difficult to get in here but it hasn't lost any of its charm. This is probably the best place to eat in SE Michigan. Once you've tried the Mac and Cheese (because this is *required*) you should really check out the rest of the menu, especially the eclectic specials. There are 30+ beer taps and Michigan beer dominates.

My wife and I split the BLT while in town for a wedding. Hit the spot! A charming deli in a charming town. :)

Very nice rooms, buffet was top notch and overall we had a great time here. The casino and bars however are filled with smoke, and now that MI has gone smoke free it seems like a step back. A final weird thing -- one bartender at a small bar with only two screens refused to turn the one screen from Fox News to the UM football game, while the other screen was tuned to the Tigers game! He said that one screen HAD to be on Fox News and he refused to give a reason why. He told us we were welcome to complain to management but that we weren't the first to complain and we wouldn't be the last. After this incident, I noticed that in almost all of the bars here, one screen was permanently tuned to Fox News. Comical.

Best sandwiches in the city... Perhaps the best in the state. My favorite is #25, "Mimi's Beginning". For about ten bucks you'll get a sandwich so big you can't get your mouth around it, served with a huge pickle half. If you are visiting A2 and can't make up your mind, this is a solid choice. They must have close to 100 creatively designed sandwiches listed on the wall, grouped by type of meat (turkey, roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, etc).
