Went there yesterday (10 am on a Sunday)... Very good food. Nice $ Service was quick. Ordered Eggs Benedict with a poached egg. It was made correct. My daughter ordered Blue berry waffles, they used fresh blue berries. EVERYTHING TASTED GREAT.

My husband and I were there about an hour ago. It was absolutely horrible. Worst diner experience of our lives. From the moment we walked in, the greeter/hostess was scowling and barely spoke except for saying "two?" Put menus on a table and walked away. Our waiter seemed to only want to speak to my husband not me. I asked for ice water and my husband asked for iced tea. He received a regular sized glass of ice tea, I received two juice glasses of water. My husband ordered a daily special of Prime Rib, with salad, french fries and slaw. He was assured the prime rib was medium rare..what he got was overly well done..dry. Horrible. He tried smothering it in A-1 sauce and that did not work. The dried meat literally sucked the sauce up and was still dry!!! He also had ordered salad with Italian dressing. The salad arrived with dressing literally dripping off the sides of the plate. It had just been thrown on the plate! The waiter had listed veggies for us and I ordered the corn. He neglected to tell me it was corn on the cob! It looked to be about 3 days old! Suffice it to say our visit to this "lovely from the outside" diner will be our first and last!! The hostess was having a bad day, the waiter was incompetent and rude to put it nicely. The elderly woman at the register didn't even ask how we "enjoyed" our meal and I'm sure I know why. She didn't want to hear any more negative reviews. The man who was sitting behind us...also had a very bad experience and in his own words..."could not wait to get the hell out of there!" We will not be returning to Six Brothers again. Horrible service...horrible food....horrible experience!

There was a bug in my food today and when the manager came by our table, she didn't even introduce herself or say sorry; just that I was wrong and it was part of my meal. Even our waitress said it didn't look right. I still had to pay for my food and was not offered any compensation. I had to call her over again to tell her when they took my plate away to examine my food I didn't get any food back and I had just started eating. I won't be going back there again.

Six Brothers is a classic New Jersey diner that serves American and Mediterranean (lots of Greek) food. I have been there many times since I can remember. They have plenty of soup to choose from and they have a seemingly much bigger menu than other diners in the area. The service can be hit or miss however they make up for that in their courtesy and hospitality. This isn't Emril's kitchen, but the food is still good. Coffee tastes fresh all around the clock. They are known for their baked goods. The atmosphere is also surprisingly pleasant for a busy place. There are the rare times when a rowdy group comes in but that happens when it's late. This is most likely because there is a college and several bars in the area. There is a banquet hall in the basement of the building. You can still have a normal conversation even though the music may be heard (muffled).

I love this place! I unfortunately needed to attend a funeral of a wonderful woman. And, I wanted to bring a dish for after the service. I contacted Six Brothers to see if they offered this service, and I spoke with George. He said, they were just starting this service and did not have their pricing and menu available on the website. However, I told him what I was looking for and asked him for a recommendation. He recommended their Ziti and Chicken in Vodka sauce and he gave me a really good price. After the service, there was a lot of food available to eat compared to the people in attendance (and there was a lot of people in attendance) that afterwards we delivered trays of left over food to a local food panty. BUT, none of the Ziti was left! In fact, all throughout the meal, everyone kept asking who bought the Ziti and raved about the taste. They loved it! Oh...by the way, I called George Sunday afternoon to place this order, and he had it ready for me Monday morning at 8 am. I always loved that place, but I love them even more after each visit!
