Fifth Solvay International Conference

Perhaps the most famous conference was the October 1927 Fifth Solvay International Conference on Electrons and Photons , where the world's most notable physicists met to discuss the newly formulated quantum theory. The leading figures were Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr . Einstein, disenchanted with Heisenberg 's uncertainty principle , remarked "God does not play dice". Bohr replied, "Einstein, stop telling God what to do". (See Bohr–Einstein debates.) 17 of the 29 attendees were or became Nobel Prize winners, including Marie Curie, who alone among them, had won Nobel Prizes in two separate scientific disciplines.

Introducing The Grand C++ Error Explosion Competition. The goal is to produce the largest compiler error message with the smallest amount of source code. As a starting point the competition's sample code produces 13 kilobytes of error text with just 129 characters. Beating this by an order of magnitude or two should not be too difficult. here is a paper describing an interesting and "simple" approach (yet still very complicated) for a quantum sign flip gate (CSIGN gate). it uses a quantum teleportation protocol on photons, which means generating a bell state (quantum entanglement) in a qubit or generating an entangled EPR pair,  then forward with some estimation and a quantum state change.

there is a non-destructive method proposed that has a success probability of 25% (or efficiency)  based on encoding and non-theoretical beam splitters, which could eventually enter solid state devices.
