It’s “worth the trip” to this Oak Hill American (with sibs in Round Rock and off Highway 360) that “emphasizes local” ingredients in its “inventive”, yet “without-pretense” “comfort food”, offers “amazing” cocktails and, oh yeah, “did somebody say brunch?”; the “beautiful setting”, which includes a patio bar with a fire pit, and “standout” service are two other reasons it “gets crowded”, “so go early.”
Great service and kid friendly. In the cold weather it was a bit unpleasant to be by the side doors going to the outside bar as it let a lot of cold air in.
I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
My go-to dish is the chicken fried beef ribs but for a quick lunch I went with the sloppy jack. I am high five-ing myself for this choice. I can taste the sweet chopped beef rib and the buns were soft. Also I recommend going with sweet potato fries dipped in the jalapeño mayonnaise. Amazing.
SCD - none at this moment. Off the ScD wagon at this point unless I get a salad. I really don't like salads.
We stopped at the one in Round Rock and it was awesome. Robert, our waiter, was so good and knew the menu very well. The food was terrific....appetizer and entrees. The pimento cheese taster at the beginning is delicious and very smart thing to do. It made me want to buy some pimento cheese to take home! Thanks for a great experience!! We will be back for sure.
