Looking forward to being back on this side of the world. Just six more weeks to go and I will be waking up next to this Samburu village on my way up to Northern Kenya.

Exotic Ethiopia-
A women from the Kara Tribe whose way of life is under threat. Her village depend on the annual floods of the Omo river to replenish their land to farm their crops. The Gilbe III Dam is near completion, which will change the flow of the river forever. Their lands have been cleared by foreign investment to grow cotton, palm oil, and other crops….. Soon their lives in the Omo will be forever changed.

ALL MOST TO THE GOAL LINE!!!!!!
FINAL PLEA - help me raise that last $65.00!!!!
so I reach my stretch goal. If only .05% of the people following my work gave up a cup of coffee, glass of wine, or dinner out, I will meet my stretch goal, and bring us that much closer to being able to build a water well in the remoter regions of Africa. Tomorrow I will be Walking for Water to support The Samburu Project in continuing their great work. Your SMALL donation of $10 for this important project can make a BIG difference. Here are the details

Bale Mountains, Ethiopia
Last year I had the opportunity to visit the Bale Mountains in Ethiopia; home to the Ethiopian endangered wolf. The area was stunning. One of my favorite things to do in this world is drive along the African roads….

Life in the Omo -
The motor boats have just started coming in. Part of the westernization that is happening, but it is good for them to have this new transportation. However, I am glad to have spent time there just before the modern world really came in with such force. I will always have such fond memories of the days there before the cell towers, electricity, western clothing….. I still love going to the Omo as it is one of the most unique places in the world, but when the dam opens in the next year or two, it is uncertain as to what will become of this amazing place.

This was an amazing afternoon in the Maasai Mara. Whose heart do you think was racing the fastest. This mum was teaching her big cubs to hunt. They eventually got tired and ran of to chase a Jackal. I think the were trying to play with the Jackal more than trying to eat him. Yep, the missed everything and went hungry that night, but the next day was a different story.
