Trust me if there was a steam plume at Black Butte (which I'm viewing as I type this) there would wide coverage of the event. That off shore volcanic event was totally predicted! "Beginning Thursday, April 23 — the day after the workshop ended — the new sensors recorded 8,000 small earthquakes in a 24-hour period. The volcano’s caldera, which had been swelling rapidly from an influx of magma, collapsed like a deflated balloon.

“All the alarm bells were going off,” said Oregon State University volcanologist Bill Chadwick, who along with colleague Scott Nooner predicted last year that the volcano would erupt in 2015. “It was very exciting.”" http://goo.gl/jwBIxj

In LA you should be fresh squeezing Valencia oranges and eating the Navels! Nice shot of the Pacific Design Center

That Central Oregon plume you see are controlled burns. Also, it's pretty common for our peaks in the area to vent steam. http://www.ktvz.com/news/Prescribed-burn-planned-by-Black-Butte-Ranch/32652246

Nice place for breakfast. Great atmosphere! All food was great and pancakes were outstanding. Only thing we didn't care for were the biscuits and gravy - too spicy!

The family stayed at The Harbor Inn on a recent trip to Legoland. My first impression was "whoa, this place is old!" The motel is located literally on the 5 freeway so there is lot's of traffic noise at all hours of the day. Thanks to the solid door and double-pane windows the room was very quite. The breakfast, which we passed on, is basically cereal and pastries. We had a 2 bedroom "suite" which was reasonably clean but did show some wear in the carpets. The bathroom functioned as a bathroom, plenty of hot water! Normally I would give a place like this 2 or 3 stars but what really stood out was the comfort of the bed and that's why I'm giving it a 4 star rating. We all slept well and were rested in the morning. We had stayed the week prior at a Hilton property which was 5 star on all amenities, but lacked a comfortable bed. The staff here was very accommodating and friendly. I think they may be owner/operators. Ate breakfast at The Breakfast Club just down the way a bit, fantastic pancakes!
