Kızgın Atar

Sevgili Google...

Ha?

Olmayan tasarım tecrübemle sikim sokum UX hatalarınızı bi arayüzü ilk denediğim dakikada fark ediyorum, koca firmasınız beceremiyorsunuz şu işi. Değiştirmeyin bari amk.

I helped GamesWithWords.org train their algorithm to guess which English I speak. It guessed that I speak US Black Vernacular / Ebonics & that my native language is Swedish. Which English do you speak?

2nd & 3rd guesses were Singaporean and standard American, with 2nd & 3rd guesses for native language being Dutch and English.

Given that the first three guesses for my native language do not include Turkish, its guesses about my dialect may as well be wrong. Although this is an ML algorithm, it may just be the case that it need a crapton more data.

Westeros is an interesting setting for lots of reasons: characters, plot, writing, the fact that there’s a high-production-value HBO series, take your pick. There are lots of reasons for it to be popular or to capture interest. But what bothers me, as a really picky nerd, is when people think that it’s a particularly well-crafted setting. It is not. Westeros is shoddily assembled as far as political, cultural, or demographic realism goes.

> Researchers have devised a new way to siphon data out of an infected computer even when it has been physically disconnected from the Internet to prevent the leakage of sensitive information it stores.

> The method has been dubbed "DiskFiltration" by its creators because it uses acoustic signals emitted from the hard drive of the air-gapped computer being targeted. It works by manipulating the movements of the hard drive's actuator, which is the mechanical arm that accesses specific parts of a disk platter so heads attached to the actuator can read or write data. By using so-called seek operations that move the actuator in very specific ways, it can generate sounds that transfer passwords, cryptographic keys, and other sensitive data stored on the computer to a nearby microphone. The technique has a range of six feet and a speed of 180 bits per minute, fast enough to steal a 4,096-bit key in about 25 minutes.

That the LHC hasn’t seen evidence for new physics is to me a clear signal that we’ve been doing something wrong, that our experience from constructing the standard model is no longer a promising direction to continue. We’ve maneuvered ourselves into a dead end by relying on aesthetic guidance to decide which experiments are the most promising. I hope that this latest null result will send a clear message that you can’t trust the judgement of scientists whose future funding depends on their continued optimism.
