I just gave a link to this in a comment thread, but I think it's worth viewing on its own. He's speaking of Humanism, but I think the comments can be read in a larger context with respect to atheism as a cultural force and even more broadly with respect to all non-dogmatic world views (including deists and certain flavors of Buddhism and Neo Paganism).

That is the thing we have to fight. Faith is something we have to embrace. Faith in God means believing, absolutely, in something with no proof whatsoever.
