our experience at menton was nice, but definitely below our expectation. we did the tasting menu and the wine pairing. each course of the tasting menu was good. we didn't find any course which we thought was "WOW!" the wine pairings were also good. again, nothing Wow. we did find that there was nothing we disliked. everything was prepared well. there was an additional cheese course for extra, we did try 2 cheeses, which were good. i find that adding an extra course in the tasting for an extra fee seems odd, but that is a minor point, not prohibitive. service was top notch. people were quite attentive. at the end of the day, i think the dinner was a nice dinner. we had a nice time, and we don't regret going. but for a 5 diamond AAA experience at the price of such a tasting menu and wine pairing, we expect something to knock our socks off, which unfortunately we didn't find. our comparison point in boston would be l'espalier, which i think exceeded our expectations. i'd recommend going once for the experience, but i'm not sure i'd return.

Everyone should treat themselves to an evening at Menton — and that's just what my husband and I did on my 29th birthday...treated ourselves. From the moment we entered, we enjoyed impeccable service from the staff who seated us a small, sweetly designed lounge and took our cocktail order. I especially enjoyed Menton's version of a Brown Derby and the crispy olive breadsticks we nibbled on were highly addictive. We quickly settled on the Chef's Tasting and almost immediately plate after plate of intriguing dishes began to emerge from the kitchen. Some highlights were the Carmelized Onion and Goat Cheese Macaroons, Tomato Jam, the Seared Foie Gras with fresh berries, and the Duck two-ways which was as close to perfect as you can get. Another stand out was Menton's signature cocktail, the L'azzurene — a delicious concoction with lavender, citrus, and gin. After an amazing array of desserts, we were stuffed, but decided to end with a cocktail at Drink. The staff was happy to accomodate and when a seat at the bar was ready for us downstairs, they brought us down and walked us to our seats. All and all, an incredible night and well worth the expense.

Visited during "restaurant week" (air-quotes used since the prix fixe menu was $72 pp) and had a meal that blew away the idea that all chefs phone it in during this promotion. Having been a fan of all of Chef Lynch's other establishments, my high expectations for Menton were blown away. While the food and service are incredibly refined, it lacks the stodginess or pretension one comes to expect at this price point. The a la carte menu and wine lists look intriguing, and are probably excellent options for those capable of making regular visits to Menton, but if this is the special occasion for you that it is for most of the other diners in the room, put yourself in the chefs' and sommelier's hands and order the tasting and accompanying pairings. A range of mostly locally sourced produce and proteins are prepared with classic flavors in mind, but without fear of inventiveness. And unlike some other very successful meals I've had from highly creative chefs, there wasn't a single bite that didn't work perfectly. A true pleasure in every way.

Had an amazing dinner here for their version of a "restaurant week" menu (lower than regular price, but not the typical $30 restaurant week price). The food was really excellent and the service was impeccable. Favorite bites included the savory macaron at the beginning of the meal and the tiny sweet macarons at the end of the meal, which really brought the whole thing full circle. Can't wait to go back!

Top dining in Boston. A true luxury dining experience. The flavor combos are unbelievable. Small portions but everything was expertly made. Very expensive so won't be returning too quickly. The perfect place for a very special occasion, you will be truly pampered. Delicious Cheese plate and I loved the Dark Chocolate Mousse

Excellent Service - they definitely make you feel special with more servers than I could count waiting on you. Great atmosphere. Great food and wine, but for the price not very memorable.
