I know that feeling, starting from scratch has its own rewards though.
Lets try a new version or distro :)

Vegetarian and vegan options. If they don't have on the day they'll prepare fresh from what they have.

Customer service handbook must have been lost in the post. One friendly staff member out of??? Basic food difficult to get wrong. Cheap and cheerful pub grub. Update: Recently revisited. Order wrong and food below average. Probably won't come back.

Originally when it opened it was an organic cafe and it still retains some of that earthy feel. The interior is exposed brickwork, wood and green plants with a TV providing a very modern distraction. The menu is broad with a good range of breakfasts and lunch items. The coffee is excellent and there's a large range of teas. Can get particularly crowded at the weekend especially fur brunch. If you're vegetarian there are a few options around the menu and if you're in the know a few off the menu. It pays to ask what they can do for you.

I have to admit to be a fan of Picturehouse cinemas. You're covered for blockbusters to screen arts (live and encore showings of ballet, opera, theatre and even exhibitions). All in a friendlier more relaxed environment to the cine-complex alternative. Membership is worth it as it includes entry to a number of films and member only (free) screenings upcoming films. If you're in the East-end you're spoilt by having two Picturehouse Hackney and Stratford East. This one makes the most of it's space by having it's screens on either side of the of the building so you enter the theatres upstairs and descend to your seat. This makes a rather narrow looking building quite spacious inside. Also upstairs is a small coffee shop that also sells hot food and snacks. Downstairs you'll find the popcorn and traditional cinema snacks along with the box office. It's also ideally situated for an evening / day out with an adjacent Pizza Express and many bars, restaurants, theatres (plural) and shopping centres.
