I cannot say enough of this place. I tried it for the first time this past week while in Charleston for a conference. I ordered the bacon wrapped shad rou which I had never tried before and it melted in my mouth. I then ordered the duck with a sweet pepper jelly along with carmelized onions and brussel sprouts and some sort of stuffing on the side. Exceptional! Kudos to the chef and to our waitress which I wish I could remember her name. To end it, I had the creme broulee, which was the cherry on top of all of it. A+ and a must for any travelers to Charleston.

Good but a bit over rated. With all the choices of food in Charleston this is a standby. Fresh food but a late reservation left us limited on choices. The lobster bisque was lacking lobster and a bit heavy on the sherry. The BBQ tuna was tasty but the underside cold....I assume warming lights. Kids shrimp and grits was ridiculously plain. Kids are picky but this had zero flavor. Pork chop was ok but for being brined was a bit chewy.

Service Review: My girlfriend and I came into town for a weekend, really excited to experience the culinary delights Charleston has to offer. We started at S.N.O.B., with such interesting decor and delicious sounding menu we thought it was a great place to start. Now, we are a young couple in our twenties and this is definitely a restaurant for an older crowd (they have loaner reading glasses by the hostess). But we love cooking and culinary challenges, so this didn't deter us one bit! By no means are we flush but we can afford to dine out at restaurants like SNOB on special occasions. SNOB was our BIG night in Charleston. We got to sit at the Chef's table (8 person table over-looking the kitchen) which has an awesome view of what's going on in the joint. Our waitress comes up to us asking us what we want, no introduction, no welcome, no "hello my name is...". My girlfriend and I pick up on this attitude but shrug it off as the "beginning of a shift" or having a bad day. The service continues to be lack luster. Then once we start on our soup, an older couple (60s) is seated right next to us at the same table. It was SHOCKING the level of customer service difference between a couple in their mid-twenties and a couple in their sixties. Our table mates were properly introduced, kind words, and some actual customer service was offered to them. We thought the name of the place was just tongue and cheek, S.N.O.B., but our server certainly lived up to the name. Our one opportunity to go big with our vacation's culinary exploration was tainted by the fart of age-ism.

We've always enjoyed dining at S.N.O.B. but this time they went above and beyond!! We called ahead and asked to have a special desert made. We were 6 months pregnant and didn't know what we were having, but had the sex of the baby concealed in an envelope. We gave the envelope to the staff at the beginning of our meal and they decorated the bottom of our desert to reveal that we were having a girl! What a fun way to find out!! Plus the food is amazing and the service is great. My husband LOVES the vegetable plate. I highly recommend eating here.

Superb service. The food is outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits. My wife tried the tile fish. We both were over the top satisfied with the quality and quantity of the meal. Definitely a place to visit again

We were there to enjoy our son's Birthday on 9/30/13. The food, the special treatment and the kindness of the staff that night made the experience a wonderful memory. Thank You to all. Geraldine Swanson

We had a very nice meal, but unfortunately the entrees arrived so late after the appetizers that it kind of killed the mood for the evening. Our server seemed rather scarce by this point and seemed to get the hint that we were simply ready to finish our entrees and get out of there; he didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. I would still give this restaurant another try -- obviously many many people have a very enjoyable time. But our experience certainly underscores the need for top-notch service on top of a terrific menu.
