I stayed here for about five nights recently while I was in Chicago. I liked the location, you are within walking distance to Michigan Avenue. The hotel is nice, it is an older hotel. The rooms are large, and the beds are comfortable. The staff was nice and responsive to requests. I didn't experience the stuffiness others stated they had experienced. I thought it was nice hotel, and the rooms are fairly quiet. Their restaurant/bar were ok. There are great dining options nearby. I especially recommend Marinos.

Upon waking in the hotel has a stuffy smell. This property must be in the middle of a renovation. Stayed on the 5th floor and had a very strong odor of formaldehyde or something like it. Patches of mud and joint treatment randomly all over the walls. But no sign that read "excuse our mess" and the staff did not mention there is a renovation in progress. The room was clean, but the air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night, so hot!!

Wonderful hotel near downtown Chicago, close enough to walk to whatever you want to see. Polite and helpful Valet and staff. A little on the pricey side but definitely a bargain for what you get.

This is an older property situated fairly close to downtown Chicago. When I walked into the lobby it seemed dated and has that "old hotel" smell. (I suggest they do something about that.) So I expected the same for my room on the 14th floor but was pleasantly surprised by an updated room and bath. The best part was the bed and pillows were excellent and I slept very well, which is the most important thing for me when I stay overnight on business trips. So I give the lobby/entry an "OK" and the room an "Excellent" so that averages out to a "Liked it".

I stayed at this property gay pride weekend with two friends and we had an excellent stay! The staff was friendly and Bree (the bartender) was fabulous! It was a pleasure meeting her and talking about Chicago! Thank you!

Horrible experience. checked in for a 4 week stay.. They put me in a room where there is no hot water...then when I complained, they apologized, and aparently the guy who came to fix the hot water, told me that he already knew there is an issue with that room...wonder why they put me in that room... They move me to 15th floor..I start taking bath, suddenly I realized there is drops of water leaking from the roof..was shocked and it is such a gross feeling, that these drops fell on me...I call the front desk, NOBODY COMES TO EVEN SEE THE PROBLEM< but they give me another room...this time again, looks like they knew there is a problem with that room. Then I move to another room, there is NO WIFI. it is very wek and keeps dropping. Then they give me another room, saying the WIFI is normally weak away from the lift. OVER all the wifi is very weak everywhere, it keeps dropping, painful, if u are staying here on business. The breakfast serves exactly the same thing everyday. sometimes they keep yesterday's potato. Not at all worth the stay. I am not the kind of person who creates noise, the manager did not even care to meet me in person to apologize, he just called me and asked me what can I do to make ur stay good...and offered me some points, 1 night stay free etc. I took photos of that leaking roof. if it was somebody, I am sure they would have created a major deal. Crazy experience, lost so many hours chasing things.

Hotel is very average for the price and the rooms are nothing special. I personally spend a lot of time traveling and this hotel definitely did not make it on the top of my favorites. I called to get a room upgrade and was hung up on by the front desk few times which defiantly made me irritated. However I do have to mention that the valet staff was awesome and very helpful. Overall I wouldn’t recommend the hotel if you are actually planning to spend a lot of time in the room, it would be fine if you are there to sleep just for a night. - Also the bathroom doors slide and do not close all the way which was the first for me. Very odd
