Monday, 10th September 2018 when all the schools were closed as called for a Bandh, declared due to some political reason - our SNIS Head of Pastoral Care Mr. Sharad Agarwal followed by residential staff members and students got enthusiasm to utilize or rather spend the day in a better way. Instead of spending the regular scheduled routine, they planned some Team Building Games for the boarders. All the arrangements were done a day prior during late evening and on 10th September morning at 9:30am, all SNIS boarders assembled in the junior football field. All boarders participated in number of team building games like "Complete the circle", "know your surrounding", "Spider Web", "Single drop makes an Ocean" etc.

The idea behind making the boarders participate in these games was to make them realize, that we all need to work together on a common perform called a “TEAM”. Also making them aware as how performing in teams while listening to instructions, rules and regulation helps them to build their own team strategies to achieve success. The students including SNIS staff enjoyed the thrilling day which finally ended with the Tug of War game. At the end of the day, our students took with them a new learning phrased as “Power cannot be the winner always, sometimes better planning and good strategy also makes you the winner”.

On 1st September'18 SNIS had an assembly, where we 10th graders performed a short skit on the importance of literacy. We planned to donate books on World Literacy Day to some other group of young learners. Therefore on 8th September - Grade10 went to Thoranahalli Government School to donate books and charts we had collected from school. Ones we reached the government school,we met their school principal followed by their grade10 students. We enlightened them about the importance of Literacy Day.
We gave them different charts and asked them to explain the content of those given charts. We were happy to see that these students were able to speak English and comprehend it nicely. We encouraged them to visit our school and use our SNIS facilities like school Labs, sports ground etc.thus encouraging them for further learning. At the end, we felt delighted to strive to spread smiles to the beautiful faces of Thoranahalli government school Grade10th students.

Grade 5 presented their Unit Of Inquiry "Body Systems" and a fun "Friendship Day" themed assembly on 21st August. They started their assembly with a skit on "Human Body System", their functions and how they are all interconnected with each other. Grade 5 also made us realize to value our friends and cherish their friendship, just as we value and take care of our body systems, thus showcasing cross curricular learning. After such a heavy content skit, grade 5 lightened the mood with a song and a peppy dance based on friendship. #SNIS #Bangalore #Education #Grade5 #FriendshipDay #BodySystems

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches participants researching, public speaking, debating and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities.
On 21st August, SNIS held its first MUN meet; the students were briefed on the rules and regulations and main organs were introduced, to conduct MUN and the hierarchy of UN.
To simulate MUN during the next club meet, students chose the topic "South China Sea Dispute", which they would come well researched to debate upon.
